With a new year comes New Year’s Resolutions! Many resolutions involve traveling and getting out to see more of the world. It can be hard to know where to begin, however. The world is so big, after all, and there are so many amazing places to choose from. If your resolution involves wanting to travel, here are seven places that you may want to put on your trip itinerary.

Nestled in the southwestern United States, Albuquerque sits in a valley in the Chihuahuan Desert. Despite being in a valley, Albuquerque is more than a mile above sea level on average. 2. Washington, D.C.
Another city in a valley, Washington D.C. sits between Virginia and Maryland on land ceded by both states. 3. London, England

There are also plenty of places to find a good meal from quite a few different cuisines, so it’s worth taking the chance on a new dish as you explore the city.
4. Toronto, Canada
The largest city in Canada, and also one of the most ethnically diverse, Toronto can appeal to a wide variety of travelers. Art fans may love the Art Gallery of Ontario, while animal enthusiasts may fall in love with the underwater tunnel at the Ripley’s Aquarium. There is also the CN tower, with its Glass Floor and Edge Walk attractions for the brave of heart. 5. Paris, France
For the history and art buffs, as well as those looking for a little romance, Paris may offer the perfect location. Even older than London, Paris has a rich cultural and historical background that can easily be explored through the numerous monuments, historical sites, and museums. For the romantically inclined, Paris isn’t known as the City of Love for nothing. The city embraces its nickname with many places designed just for lovers.
6. Tokyo, Japan
Tokyo is a vibrant and bustling city that can cater to just about any taste. There are video game stores and arcades for the tech crowd, temples and monuments for those interested in learning the culture, and more ramen and seafood restaurants than one could possibly try. The city also makes a good base for those who want to explore other parts of the country by using the very well-developed train system.
7. Sydney, Australia
Heading down under can be a dream come true for many travelers. Sydney offers a great mix of ocean access and culture. There are shows at the gorgeous and iconic Sydney Opera House to take in. There is also fun in the Pacific ocean to be had at beaches like Bondi and Manly. Daredevils can climb the Sydney Harbor Bridge, while others can find slower-paced adventures at zoos and wildlife parks, such as Symbio Wildlife Park.
