The music video was filmed in Hawaiʻi, so I’d recommend something tropical like a piña colada. Personally, though, I’m a tequila guy, so I’d swap the rum for tequila!
„Weightless“ marks quite a shift from the darker, club-focused „GO“ – what’s happening in the world of Zuezeu right now? Tell us about the new single, the Hawaii-shot music video, and what’s coming next – new music, shows, plans?
A huge part of my artist identity is never being tied down to one sound or genre. Every time I walk into the studio, I have no idea what kind of music I’m going to make. I just follow whatever I’m feeling that day and let the creative process take over.
Creating „Weightless“ was a really special experience. I got to collaborate with some of my closest friends, bounce ideas off each other, and find a story we could all relate to: memories, nostalgia, and chasing a feeling you wish you could relive.
I was born and raised in Hawaiʻi, so there was never any question about where the music video needed to be filmed. That’s where I truly feel weightless. Driving around the island and shooting at some of my favorite spots brought back so many incredible memories. It was a full circle moment that made the song feel even more personal.
Since releasing „Weightless“ this past week, my life has already changed in so many ways. Connecting with people through this song has been surreal, and seeing complete strangers sing lyrics that started as an idea in my head is something I’ll never take for granted. I’m especially excited to kick off my next tour, named after the song, „Weightless,“ and hear crowds singing it back to me every night.
We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which harmless theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)
Lately, I’ve been going down the rabbit hole of the „Kandahar Giant“ stories, a supposed 15 foot tall, red haired humanoid said to have lived in the mountains of Afghanistan. There are multiple former military personnel who’ve shared stories about encountering it, but there’s never been any solid evidence proving it actually existed or still exists. I know it’s probably one of those mysteries we’ll never have a real answer to, but if it ever turned out to be true, that would be so cool. And of course… Bigfoot. I’ve always loved the Bigfoot mystery and grew up watching all the Bigfoot hunter shows on TV with my dad.
What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?
This is such a difficult question because I’m not super into fashion and don’t follow a lot of brands. I literally only wear all black every day, but I do love Chrome Hearts, so I’m just gonna go with Chrome Hearts. (pls sponsor me)
„Weightless“ is all about wanting to go back to a moment when everything felt light, free and safe. What inspired that theme – and is there a specific memory or feeling you were chasing when you made the track?
When I was writing it, I kept thinking about a few different moments in my life, my first love, simpler times, and my childhood growing up in Hawaiʻi. Surfing with my friends after school, driving around the island, and living without the responsibilities that come with getting older. Those memories always make me feel the most weightless, and they became the emotional foundation for both the song and the music video.
My hope is that when people hear „Weightless,“ it brings them back to their own version of that feeling. If a song can make someone relive a memory they thought they’d forgotten, even for a few minutes, then I feel like I’ve done my job.
Beside music, do you have any special talents?
Video production, editing, and graphic design were my entire world before I ever got into music, and they’re still a huge part of my career today. When I was 14, 15, and 16, I won my local film festival in Hawaiʻi three years in a row. That gave me the confidence to leave school on my 16th birthday and pursue video production full time.
Looking back, everything really does happen for a reason. I’m incredibly grateful that content creation became such a passion of mine at such a young age because it’s given me a level of creative control that most artists don’t have until much later in their careers.
To this day, I still film and edit all of my own content, from music videos and social media content to my live show visuals and promotional materials. Having that background allows me to bring every creative idea to life exactly how I envision it and make sure everything feels authentic to who I am as an artist.
Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!
#1, I am still new to everything, and I like to experiment with different sounds and genres. You will never get bored following my project because it’s always constantly changing and evolving.
#2 I am very controlling of my brand in every way. It’s very important to me that I have complete control of how everything asoscialted to my name looks and feels to keep it authentic.
#3 This year, I’m making it a huge priority of mine to make sure that I release music every single month, weather its originals or bootleg remixes, I’m gonna keep myself very busy
#4 I purposely give myself time every day to go through all my direct messages on Instagram and scroll through my comments to try and reply to my fans that have questions, need advice or just want to have a conversation. Social media is such an amazing way of meeting people from all over the world who come from so many different walks of life, and it means a lot to me that people feel comfortable reaching out to me.
#5 common question answer time: i made the name ZUEZEU up around 6 years ago, i just like the letter Z and think the name ZUEZEU is cool, that’s literally it…. Also im 24, i dont know why so many people online think I’m older, but just gonna throw that out there.
The road so far…. who or what was your biggest support??
It’s crazy thinking back on it, my new song “weightless” has connected me with so many amazing people, the first time I posted a teaser video of “weightless,” Tiesto commented on it and followed me, a few months later we ended up meeting up in person because of that song.

“What is your favorite tattoo”
My favorite tattoo is definitely the piece on my back. Honestly, all of my tattoos mean a lot to me because each one represents a different chapter of my life, so it’s hard to choose just one.
The back piece is based on the cover art for my debut album, More Life. That album will always be special to me because it was the first body of work I ever released, and a lot of the songs came from demos of the very first music I ever made. It reminds me of where everything started.
As for the actual design, I don’t really like explaining the meaning behind it. Some things are better left personal. It’s something my tattoo artist and I spent months designing together until every detail felt perfect, and that makes it even more meaningful to me. I like that it has a story that’s just for me.
