„Gullideckel“ on tour! „Gullideckel“ (manhole cover) was the affectionate nickname given to the smooth-surfaced aluminum rims that were fitted as standard on some car models in the 1980s. UNION GLASHÜTTE drew inspiration from these very rims and, to mark the Deutschland Klassik 2025, is launching a very special watch, the Noramis Date Limited Edition. It features a silver-colored dial with 15 narrow rectangular holes around the edge, giving the watch face the appearance of the legendary „Gullideckel“ rim. The look is completed by five small bolts, reminiscent of wheel nuts, around the eye of the hands.
Lance-shaped black hands with white tips glide over the railway minute track and precisely indicate the time thanks to the powerful UNG-07.S1 automatic movement. The greenish Super-LumiNova® coating ensures good legibility, even in low light conditions. At 6 o’clock, the date display, with its black date disc and contrasting white numerals, blends harmoniously into the dial. A delicate bezel frames the domed sapphire crystal above the 40 mm stainless steel case.
The black calfskin strap with contrasting stitching and diamond-shaped embossing, reminiscent of the sports seats of past decades, adds a sporty touch. The „Limited Edition“ imprint highlights the uniqueness of this exceptional timepiece: it is limited to just 200 pieces worldwide. The watch also comes with a medallion made of fine stainless steel, which can also be used as a case back. It features a map of Germany with two cities highlighted: Heidelberg, the venerable university town as the starting and finishing point of the Deutschland Klassik 2025, and Glashütte, where the fine watches are carefully handcrafted in the UNION GLASHÜTTE studios.
This year, the ADAC Deutschland Klassik invites you to a classic car tour through the diverse region of Northern Baden. The area is closely linked to the history of mobility; after all, Carl Benz invented the first automobile here.
