MOSES SUMNEY IS THE FACE OF MILLION GOLD BY RABANNE A WORLD STAR WHO DEFIES THE RULES AND LIVES LIFE IN HIS OWN WAY

The artist and musician Moses Sumney sees it as his duty to defy convention. He’s made a name for himself with his homemade videos, his monochrome style, and his ability to combine small-town life in North Carolina with head-turning appearances at fashion weeks around the world. But above all he is known for his breathtaking voice.

Inspired by his upbringing between Southern California and Ghana, he plays effortlessly with different genres. His albums have topped critics‘ lists in The New York Times, NPR, Pitchfork, The Guardian and Rolling Stone. His directing work has received awards from SXSW, UKMVAs, Webby and the Camerimage Awards.

When lockdown prevented him from touring his second album, grae, Sumney headed to the Blue Ridge Mountains to film the live album and film Blackalachia: a masterful synthesis of his creative works.

He has since appeared in his first film, A24’s MaXXXine, which premieres this summer. This is followed by his first new music since 2020 – an EP of songs that capture his love of the spotlight and showcase his songwriting like never before.
