When NORTVI was founded in 2019, the three founders—Sebastiaan van Dam, Max van Dam, and Marijn van Roij—had a clear goal: to develop high-quality luggage that combines style, functionality, and ecological responsibility. All three founders bring extensive experience in business management: Sebastiaan van Dam is one of the founders of We Are Era, Germany’s largest media company, which was acquired by RTL Group in 2018. He and Marijn von Roij also paved the way for Zalando’s market launch in the Benelux countries.
The Dutch company, with strong ties to Berlin, consistently focuses on the conscious use of resources and people. From the very beginning, the focus was not just on the product, but on a holistic approach that combines design, sustainability, and social responsibility. The brand’s journey began with a year of intensive product development and brand building – with the clear goal of conquering the market in 2019. However, the outbreak of COVID-19 presented an unexpected challenge, complicating global travel and thus disrupting the luggage market. Despite these circumstances, the brand promise remained intact, and the founders consistently pursued their chosen path. Following the revival of the travel sector in 2022, the brand experienced impressive development. Since then, it has secured a significant market share in key regions and established a strong position. Today, NORTVI represents an internationally recognized company with a clear focus on quality, innovation, and sustainable growth.
Green travel with aspirations – and awards
NORTVI is more than just luggage: It’s a statement for a modern, responsible lifestyle. The suitcases and accessories impress with minimalist design, technical sophistication, and sophisticated functionality. At the same time, the brand minimizes its ecological footprint by using durable, recyclable materials and producing with as little waste as possible. The polycarbonate used is manufactured in Germany and meets the highest environmental standards.

Flagship Store in Berlin: A New Chapter
With the opening of the store in Berlin Mitte, NORTVI is further expanding its presence in Germany, currently the brand’s largest market. Another store already exists in Amsterdam. The store not only offers the opportunity to experience the complete product range in-person, but also represents the special shopping experience NORTVI strives to create: personal, inspiring, and high-quality. Sustainability in every dimension
The brand’s responsibility extends far beyond the product itself. In cooperation with the WWF, NORTVI supports projects to protect global ecosystems, such as those in Asia’s Coral Triangle. As a member of Interzero Waste Solutions, the company saves over 30,000 kg of primary raw materials annually and avoids around 2,500 kg of CO₂ emissions.
NORTVI also takes a different approach to social responsibility: Partnering with workshops that guarantee fair working conditions and consciously avoiding discount campaigns like Black Friday underscore its commitment to an ethically sound business model.
