1. Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to sip on while they listen to your new music?
Whatever the listener feels fits the music. Alcoholic or non alcoholic, something that allows them to stay with it.
2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!
The new album Tum Tum Tum is out, and I’ve released the single Egum Eô with a video. It was recorded live in the studio with the band I’ve been playing with, so it carries that dynamic.
I’ll also be touring in Europe, with dates in Paris, Schorndorf, Berlin, Hamburg and London.
3. We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true?
Not really a conspiracy, but the idea that we’re deeply connected to everything around us, and we’ve simply lost the sensitivity to perceive it.
4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?
Something simple and timeless. Not too designed. More about feeling comfortable and natural.
5. Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?
In my earlier albums, the songs were more personal. Over time, the writing became more abstract and more connected to the sound of the words.
I’ve been making music for over twenty years, moving between Brazil, the US, Europe and the UK, and that shaped the work. On this album, the focus was more on interaction with the band and capturing something in the moment.
Now the music feels more open, allowing different meanings depending on who is listening.
6. Beside music, do you have any special talents?
Not really, but I’m discovering that being a father is something I’m learning a lot from. It requires attention, patience and presence, which also feeds into the music.
7. Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!
I’ve been making music for over twenty years and this is my eighth album.
I’ve lived and worked between Brazil, the US, Europe and the UK.
My music moves across different styles but stays connected to Brazilian roots.
I’ve collaborated with artists like Marcos Valle, Nina Miranda, and contributed to a tribute to Caetano Veloso.
I sing in Portuguese, French and English.
8. The road so far…. who or what was your biggest support??
A few people have been very important along the way. My composition partner Wado, and Marcelo Camelo, who produced one of my albums. Also the people I’ve met and worked with over time.
9. A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before? + Answer pls
Maybe something about intuition in music. Most of what I do starts instinctively, and only later becomes clearer. I try not to control it too early.
