MANUEL LOUIS – Album: „Brücken“ + Exclusive Interview

Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to zip on while they listen to your new music?

As spring is arriving with my new album, I would suggest a cold ginger beer on crushed ice with some fresh mint – works perfect for the weather and my music 😉

Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!

My latest Single „Andere Welt“ just dropped on the first of march and features a very special music video featuring wishes to a different world and what maybe the omnipresent AI could offer to that – even includes a social media poll, what you guys would wish for in a different world.

The new Album BRÜCKEN will be released on may 24th.

We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)

Remember the blue and the red pill from the matrix?

one was suggested to let you see the potentially unsettling truth and one let’s you stay in your maybe unreal comfort-zone…

I think i swallowed both a pink one – being a mix of both and with that be able to see a lot of the realness, but also being able to change it little by little into a true world where i would like to stay.

Try it!

What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

Definitely urban, but with a classy timeless look and some colors shining through.

Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

Open minded lyrics, with the willingness to change myself but not the heaviness, that a lot of people think has to come with it.

Uplifting, but still with a message – but leaving it open if you wanna take it or just listen to great music.

Beside music, do you have any special talents?

I am a great handyman myself and like to build stuff that lasts, just without the lumberjack-look 🙂

Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!

I am creative BUT organized

I do my best to never think that I found THE way to write/produce a song, but still be open to totally different approaches.

I love to collaborate with all kinds of people, especially from different art forms

To me it is important to give back to the community and work in several organizations to support other artists – just like my hip hop roots told me: each one teach one.

My lifetime challenge, is to dance on the rope over the thin line of being connected to other artists and people but also stay connected to my constantly changing inner self.

How did you learn to sing/ to write/ to play??

I am a totally extroverted person and needed ways to express.

The art form I was surrounded growing up – hiphop – gave me an easy access, to directly have an output quickly (something that classical lessons in guitar or singing never did in the beginning, as it often puts theory and learning first…) so I grew in B-Boying and freestyle rapping – leaving my passion for big love songs and pop music in the closet…

Once I had the courage to life both worlds, it freed me and I really started to grow artistically (and as a human being).

I produced and released my first Album (in english) 2006, under the title HANDMADE in that spirit

After that I was open to study vocals with great teachers over the years, even vocal therapists and found my way of freedom filled with theory and even found a way to my mother tung, the crazy german language.

A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls

How do you juggle your life as a family father, artistic dreams and active community service member?

I don’t know – I just take one step at a time and don’t try to achieve EVERYthing at once, but give things time in this stressy world.
