To coincide with The Armory Show 2026—the international fair for modern and contemporary art in New York—LINDBERG Eyewear is presenting the site-specific installation „Enigma of Vision“ at the Javits Center in late September, in collaboration with Italian artist Fabrizio Corneli.
The installation fuses art and design into a visual experience that invites viewers to rethink perception. Corneli is renowned for works in which light and shadow—cast by precisely constructed forms—reveal hidden images and figures. His pieces challenge the boundaries between the visible and the hidden, opening up new perspectives on perception.
This collaboration builds upon LINDBERG’s long-standing connection to art, architecture, and design. The Danish eyewear brand views exceptional design as an interplay of aesthetics, innovation, and craftsmanship, and actively supports international art and design institutions and fairs around the globe.
„Enigma of Vision“ comprises two interconnected works: „Seed“ and „Eyecatcher.“
For „Seed,“ Corneli created a sculpture featuring a hidden light source that reveals the image of the Earth. The interplay of light, form, and space alludes to our shared responsibility and the increasing interconnectedness of our future.
In „Eyecatcher,“ light is directed through selected iconic LINDBERG frames. The frames are transformed into sculptural light objects; their shadows create a new visual language, dissolving the boundaries between eyewear, design object, and art.
Both works explore the relationship between the visible and the hidden, reflecting LINDBERG’s core design philosophy: distilling complexity down to the essentials and opening up new perspectives through precise design.
