KIPRUN Kipclimb Max trail running shoe for challenging terrain

The new Kipclimb Max trail running shoe from KIPRUN for challenging terrain

Whether tackling steep ascents, rocky sections, or long off-road distances, trail running places unique demands on both the runner and their gear. With the Kipclimb Max, KIPRUN expands its portfolio to include a shoe specifically designed for technically demanding terrain, combining stability, protection, and cushioning.

The Kipclimb Max joins the KIPRUN trail lineup as a new model engineered specifically for long distances on challenging trails. The series targets runners who regularly tackle alpine or technical terrain and prioritize stability and control.

Designed for difficult terrain

The Kipclimb series comprises several models built for trail running in demanding environments—ranging from loose scree and roots to steep, uneven climbs. The focus is on stability and security, ensuring controlled movement even in dynamic situations.

In the Kipclimb Max, this is achieved through a robust construction featuring reinforced materials and a high-traction outsole with 5 mm lugs. This ensures grip on varied surfaces, while an integrated rock guard protects the foot against sharp stones.

Cushioning and energy return for long distances

Designed for ultra-trail running, the Kipclimb Max combines firm, responsive cushioning with added support for prolonged exertion. The Shiftech+ foam construction, featuring a Fastech insert, aims to balance stability and energy return.

With a 4 mm drop (30/34 mm stack height), the shoe has a relatively low profile, promoting a direct connection to the ground and aiding control on uneven terrain.

Focus on protection and support

In addition to the sole construction, the upper material reinforces the Kipclimb Max’s role as a rugged companion. A durable mesh featuring Matryx technology ensures a secure fit while offering effective breathability. A reinforced toe cap provides extra protection on the trail.

The Kipclimb Max is available in both women’s and men’s versions. It weighs 285 g (women’s size 38) and 320 g (men’s size 42), respectively.

The newest member of the KIPRUN trail series

The trail running collection comprises two main lines: Kipsummit and Kipclimb. Each caters to different types of running:

The Kipsummit series is designed for versatile trails—ranging from flowing paths to moderately technical sections. The focus here is on a balance of cushioning, responsiveness, and comfort, alongside broad versatility.
The new Kipclimb models are specifically aimed at trail runners who frequently tackle demanding, technical terrain. They prioritize stability, protection, and traction to ensure confidence and safety, even on steep, rugged sections.
