Kasbo – „Resenären“ + Exclusive Interview

Kasbo @ Olof Grind

Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to zip on while they listen to your new music?

Ooh, I’m thinking something warm. Like a nice cup of tea or Coffee. I like going for the comforting vibe in music, so a drink that comforts you feels fitting.

Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!

I’m in the middle of everything right now! Releasing a new single on May 15th and new album on June 7th. I have a few festivals this summer and tour coming up this fall, don’t have the exaaaact dates to share yet though.

We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)

Not sure how widespread this conspiracy is, or if it’s just me, but I’m pretty hopeful trolls live in the Swedish forest’s. They seem fun.

What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

Interesting, I’ve never really thought about that. I’m not too well versed on names of different fashion styles but I feel like my music is a pair of black converse shoes, a pair of wide jeans from HOPE, and a vintage t-shirt. Simple and comfortable. (Yes, that is 100% what I’m wearing right now).

Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

I generally gravitate towards making music that feels warm and comforting. My album is about slowing down time and releasing yourself from the need of always moving forward and feeling stress of achieving new things. I guess the overarching theme is just being content and feeling like it’s okay to be content in a society that’s always trying to make us feel that we should need more.

Beside music, do you have any special talents?

My poached eggs are always perfect.

Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!

I’m from Sweden. I make melancholic but hopeful dance music with alot of focus on scenery and environments. I started out in the band world with an indie/post rock background that has had a big influence on to this day. I love making albums with bigger themes and specific art directions, creating worlds is what I get the most enjoyment out of. I play liveshows with instruments and timed visuals and lighting, but also play DJ sets for when you just want to have fun and dance.

How did you learn to sing/ to write/ to play?

I started out playing guitar after my sister taught me a few songs she’d learned in school. I started playing a lot in bands and stuff but eventually moved to music production, I liked the idea of being able to do everything by myself. I didn’t go to school or anything for music production though, just a lot of hours spent inside the program and on YouTube watching more tutorials than anyone would consider healthy.

A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls

What’s your favorite harry potter movie? Half blood prince of course.
