Transformation is upon us. It is up to us to move with the times and realise that we are co-creating the next chapters together. Never give up on your creativity or dreams. This project was conceived and born during lockdown, against all the odds, with the intention to keep the creative spirit alive, and share joy, love and inspiration in unprecedented, changing times. It worked for us and we hope it works for you too!
The story started in November 2017, when the world was offered a new and unprecedented experience – Johny Dar ’s first single, ‘Be Free’ – featuring his original sonic language as vocals. The track and its music video beckoned listeners to ‘remember… rise above the fear’, and return to our innate connection with nature and each other.
With the appearance of Covid19 in 2020, Johny was struck by the relevance of ‘Be Free’ in the lockdown climate, and invited Paolo Tossio to remix the track. An experienced, independent producer and DJ, Paolo has played alongside and back to back with big names like Tiesto, and supported iconic talents including Carl Cox, Mauro Picotto, Signum, Infected Mushroom, Astric, Chris Liebing and many others.
Teaming up with video artist Mustafa Özkök, the team were determined to overcome the limits of lockdown. No one had a budget but everyone had time – and a passionate love for life and art. Together, we managed to co-produce a brand new ‘Be Free’ music video, combining original footage of lockdown life with dynamic motion graphics featuring Johny’s art.
Journeying from an outer world of chaos to an inner world of peace – the story celebrates the power of music and dancing and our unbreakable connection with each other and all life.
