1. What kind of drink would you recommend while listening to your new music?
Honestly, a really good cup of coffee. It’s classic, comforting and gives you some pep in your step; like the record!
2. Please give us an update about your new single, album, tour dates, and videos!
My new album is coming out at the end of May, which I’m really excited about. I’m also heading out on a pop-up tour across Western Canada this summer, with added shows in Edmonton as well. I’m recording a music video for my next single, That Sunshine’s Mine, this weekend; so lots happening right now as everything starts to roll out!
3. Which harmless theory do you wish were true?
I love the idea that there’s life on other planets; it just feels impossible that there wouldn’t be in a universe this big.
4. What fashion style or brand best describes your music?
Probably a mix of ‘90s kid nostalgia and classic, athletic style. Think overalls, Vans, Converse; kind of like a kid from Rugrats who grew up but kept the same look.
5. Tell us more about your songs—topics, message, etc.
The songs are very much rooted in what I’ve been going through personally. This album is about transformation; closing out one chapter and stepping into another. It explores change, letting go of independence and learning how to lean into community.
6. Besides music, do you have any special talents?
I do a lot of comedy—sketch and improv. Recently, I’ve also gotten into crochet and making custom pins/buttons, which has been really fun.
7. Name 5 things we should know about you as an artist!
I don’t take myself too seriously.
At the same time, I can also be extremely sentimental and earnest.
I like finding the humour in life.
I’m a kid at heart and love creating something out of nothing.
I believe we’re stronger when we show up for one another.
8. The road so far—who or what has been your biggest support?
Hawksley Workman has been a huge support. He played such an important role in shaping this record and has been incredibly generous as a collaborator and mentor. He and his wife Jenn really welcomed me in, and that relationship has turned into a genuine friendship that I’m very grateful for.
9. A question you’ve never been asked before + your answer!
No one ever asks about my dog, but he’s actually had a big impact on my life. His name is Norm, and he’s a rescue. He’s brave, curious, and full of personality. Getting him has opened up this whole new, more nurturing side of me, which I didn’t expect, but it’s changed me in a really awesome way!
