Since its inception, Bikkembergs has embodied a distinctive brand identity. Fashion, sport, and stylistic innovation merge to form a singular vision. Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, the label pioneered a powerful, physical, and authentic aesthetic. Shaped by athletic inspiration and Italian sartorial craftsmanship, Bikkembergs established a unique signature early on. This spirit now returns to center stage with the relaunch of the iconic Soccer line under the creative direction of Lee Wood.
Born on the runways of Antwerp and Paris, Bikkembergs quickly broke free from the traditional confines of the fashion world. The brand relocated its presentations to football stadiums—from Milan to Barcelona—making sport its central medium of expression. In 2000, a spontaneous fitting with the captain of FC Fossombrone—a small Italian club—marked a turning point. Dirk Bikkembergs later acquired the club, transforming it into a testing ground for style and performance.
This experience forged a clear philosophy: fashion can—and should—speak a more direct, accessible, and authentic language. It was from this conviction that the Bikkembergs Soccer line was born: a sneaker collection that interprets sport as a form of cultural narrative, consciously liberating itself from the conventions of haute couture. Over the years, the brand has outfitted renowned teams such as Inter, Málaga CF, and the Russian national team. Likewise, internationally acclaimed players—including Paolo Cannavaro, Giorgio Chiellini, Ludovic Giuly, and Thomas Helveg—have worn Bikkembergs designs.

The relaunch of the Soccer sneaker kicked off in June 2025 with a highly acclaimed collaboration with Gosha Rubchinskiy, former Creative Director at Yeezy. He reinterpreted the model from a distinct streetwear perspective, embracing the „Bloke-core“ aesthetic and thereby bringing the Soccer sneaker back into the spotlight for a new generation.
This evolution now continues: New variations of the Soccer sneaker are being released in high-quality, innovative leathers and modern color palettes, inspired by the early 2000s. Amidst the ongoing Y2K revival, these designs emerge as a fusion of nostalgia and the present day.

A central element of the collection remains the iconic Soccer classic—a defining Bikkembergs shoe. Its design has been further refined and runs like a common thread throughout the entire collection, appearing in new patterns, embroideries, and prints. The color palette ranges from elegant, neutral nuances to striking accents such as sky blue and vibrant red, thereby establishing a clear balance between tradition and modernity.
Today, just as in the past, the Soccer sneaker stands as a timeless icon that bridges generations. With this relaunch, Bikkembergs returns to its roots, underscoring its vision of an authentic, dynamic attitude—one where fashion meets sport, style meets movement, and heritage meets innovation.
