ASICS announces the launch of the TOKYO collection, inspired by the unique spirit of Tokyo. Blending the city’s cultural heritage with its modern dynamism, the collection combines innovative ASICS technologies with iconic designs, including the two new elite running shoes, MEGABLAST™ and SONICBLAST™.
The collection embodies ASICS‘ founding philosophy, Anima Sana In Corpore Sano, or „A healthy mind in a healthy body,“ and underscores its ongoing commitment to inspiring even more people to exercise for their physical and mental well-being. Whether through dynamic cushioning, reliable stability, or all-day comfort, all products in the collection are designed to help runners feel completely at ease and reach their full potential.
ASICS‘ latest midsole innovation, FF TURBO™ SQUARED Foam, is at the heart of the new MEGABLAST™ and SONICBLAST™ models. This advanced cushioning material was created to deliver a more dynamic, responsive ride with noticeably lightweight cushioning. According to testing by the ASICS Institute of Sport Science*¹, FF TURBO™ SQUARED Foam is approximately 32.5 percent bouncier than the original FF TURBO™ Foam.
The new MEGABLAST™ offers an exceptional running experience. Equipped with a full-length midsole made of the innovative FF TURBO™ SQUARED foam, it delivers a powerful, energetic rebound. At the same time, the shoe remains lightweight and offers excellent cushioning. Weighing just 230 grams*2, the MEGABLAST™ combines a dynamic midsole with a lightweight, specially developed mesh upper that offers stretch and breathability for long-lasting comfort. Designed as a versatile everyday training shoe, it is suitable for a variety of running styles, speeds, and distances, always ensuring maximum energy return.
The new SONICBLAST™ is also highly responsive and was developed with a clear focus: to promote fun on shorter, faster runs, from training to race day. It combines FF TURBO™ SQUARED foam with a layer of FF BLAST™ MAX foam, one of ASICS‘ lightest and most energetic materials, for a cloud-like ride. Between the two layers, the ASTROPLATE™ component helps runners push off the ground more efficiently, enabling a faster and more responsive ride.
In addition to the two new models, MEGABLAST™ and SONICBLAST™, the TOKYO collection presents a wide selection of ASICS‘ most popular running shoes.
