MIDO – Multifort Mechanical Skeleton Limited Edition

Mido presents the Multifort Mechanical Skeleton Limited Edition, a true distil-lation of rarity, history and technology. This intense and sophisticated watch features a high-tech titanium case with a black PVD treatment and a diameter of 44 mm. The absence of a dial draws attention to a skeletonised movement with a striking black plate decorated with Geneva stripes – the real DNA of the Multifort collection. In this first for Mido, the brand boldly reveals the full extent of its watchmaking expertise. Elegant finishes adorn the components of this rare series, which is limited to 999 numbered timepieces. It is a composition with powerful energy that will set the hearts of those who love exclusivity racing.

Hypnotic skeletonisationLike an invitation to immerse oneself in watchmaking mechanics, the balance-spring is the beating heart of the watch from which the concentric rings of the skeleton design radiate. In intense black and decorated with Geneva stripes, the plate of the Multifort Mechanical Skeleton reveals the ballet of the geartrain. The triple-faceted hour and minute hands adorned with white Super-LumiNova® stand out against the canvas of the movement, as does a diamond-cut small seconds hand at 6 o’clock.

The flange displays the hour circle in white against a black background. The final flourish contributing to the captivating beauty of this creation is a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective treatment on both sides for optimal readability.Mechanical beautyThe new skeletonised calibre driving the Multifort Mechanical Skeleton – a first for Mido – brings watch-making tradition to the wrist. A direct descendant of a flagship Swiss calibre developed in the 1950s (ETA 6498-1), it stands out for its solidity and reliability. The manual winding system strengthens the owner’s strong emotional attachment to the watch: once the 46-hour power reserve has elapsed, it must generate the precious beats of the balance-spring as the crown is wound. On the rear, traditional decorations including chamfering and Geneva stripes give the rhodium-plated components their radiance.

Mido asserts the technicality of the Multifort Mechanical Skeleton Limited Edition with a case in tita-nium, a lightweight and noble material that resists both corrosion and erosion. Polished on the bezel and satin-finished on the sides, it is coated in black using a PVD treatment. The watch number appears on the back – an individual figure in a limited series of 999 timepieces. Each creation is presented in a dedicated box with a numbered certificate to reflect its rarity. On the wrist, a titanium pin buckle accompanies a technical black fabric strap, while the water-resistance of the watch ensures it can withstand pressures of up to 10 bar (100 m/330 ft).

Dressed all in black, the Multifort Mechanical Skeleton exudes a hypnotic and sophisticated beauty against a backdrop of watchmaking tradition and innovation.
