When a video has a lot of likes, YouTube and Google realize that it might be interesting and show it higher up on search queries. You can easily buy likes for YouTube videos and also follow this guideline to gain fans organically. This is what we will focus today: How can you improve your ranking in the YouTube search so that your videos are found and reach more people? This is called „YouTube SEO“.

Small YouTube channels in particular can have a good position in the ranking if a few relevant points are taken into account.

The tips are not official rules

The tips are not official from YouTube. They are not set in stone either, because the algorithms of the search engines are constantly changing.

It is advice that has been tried and passed on by many marketing professionals and that I myself can see work.

You will quickly notice that the views of your videos increase if you follow them. Some can be implemented quickly and easily, but some also mean a lot of work.

Not really surprising, is it?

Many of the tips from this blog entry can also be transferred to websites, Facebook pages, blogs, etc. I hope that they will also help you beyond YouTube!

The most important: Your videos should be good!

And I don’t just mean that in terms of image quality, but in general. The content must also be right. If your videos are unkind or uninteresting, the best SEO tips are useless!

  1. Maintain your YouTube channel

It is essential that you position yourself clearly. Do you know your niche? Where are you strong, where can people trust you? What use do you bring them?

So the search engines also know what can be found on your site.

Remember to fill out the legal notice („channel info“), link your website and your social accounts. Show yourself from your best side

An attractive YouTube channel also includes optimizing the channel image so that it is displayed well on all devices and choosing a channel icon (or “logo”) that is recognizable.

YouTube recommends a size of 2560 x 1440 px for the channel image. (If you create the image with Canva, there is a template with these dimensions.) The focus of the image should be in the middle. So it is not covered by the logo or the social sharing buttons at the bottom right and is easily recognizable on all devices.

  1. Post regularly

This is one of the most important factors in maintaining your YouTube channel. Ideally, you post once a week or more often. Then YouTube notices that something is going on on your channel and supports it.

Once a week is a lot – I can do that on my YouTube channel thanks to a little trick: Live videos (that’s a topic in itself).

But there are areas in which you can pre-produce well and work relatively efficiently.

  1. „Keyword Research“: What topics are you looking for?

If you publish videos on topics that are not searched for, you have no chance. At the same time, you have to be really good in your area to stand out from the flood of popular offers.

Work with keywords. On the one hand, they help you to find out what your audience is really looking for. On the other hand, you can specifically name your videos with keywords to meet this demand.

Some tips on how to find such key terms („keywords“):

What do your customers ask you in everyday life? For which problems are you looking for a solution? Write down ideas after talking to customers. Comments on your posts on social media are also helpful, because people there often ask specific questions or make suggestions for other topics. If you work in a larger company, get inspiration from the people who are in frequent contact with customers.

Try autocomplete for searches on YouTube. Enter a keyword from your area. Then YouTube shows you which topics are often searched for. (This trick works on Pinterest, Google, and other search engines too.)
