Thinking MU – LONG DAYS – AS LONG AS THERE IS LIGHT, THERE IS NO RUSH

When the light lingers, everything changes. Every morning begins more slowly, conversations stretch late into the night, and between moments, there’s suddenly space for another dip in the sea. With the SS26 LONG DAYS collection, Thinking MU captures precisely this feeling. It’s an homage to the Mediterranean summer and that rare energy that arises when the day seems endless.

As soon as the light permeates everyday life, the rituals that define the Mediterranean lifestyle return: leisurely breakfasts, spontaneous swims in the sea at any time, carefree afternoon naps, endless conversations after dinner, and sunsets that refuse to give way to night.

For LONG DAYS, light is therefore much more than just a backdrop. Inspired by artists such as Joaquín Sorolla, Herbert List, and Jess Allen, Thinking MU explores how brightness shapes atmosphere and alters perception. This fusion of art and fashion continues in a collaboration with the Catalan painter Iván Floro. Using a visual language reminiscent of Impressionism, Floro explores how light transforms the everyday into atmosphere, capturing moments where memory, irony, and the present merge under the same Mediterranean clarity.

A DAY, TOLD IN CLOTHING

The collection follows the rhythm of a summer day, unfolding in five moments. Each phase translates the changing light into colors, materials, and silhouettes.

Dawn opens the day with a maritime aesthetic. Richer fabrics protect against the early morning chill. Deep navy, red, and black define the palette. Enlarged irregular stripes, woven patterns, and vintage references evoke the imagery of harbors from decades past.

With Awakening, the collection becomes lighter. Transparent fabrics and flowing textures reflect the play of light filtering through half-open blinds. Versatile pieces, soft layering, and asymmetrical silhouettes create a dreamy morning atmosphere. Morning stripes in soft tones and flowing draping create a relaxed, almost pajama-like atmosphere: shirts with surprising openings, wide sleeve silhouettes, and micro shorts evoke the kind of clothing you reach for in the morning without giving it much thought.

Mid Morning brings movement as the sun warms and skin begins to tan. The designs draw on the design language of classic swimwear. Rounded lines, cutouts, and sporty silhouettes with retro touches translate the world of swimsuits into an urban summer look.

At midday, or Noon, when everything pauses, the collection becomes more intimate and handcrafted. Embroideries inspired by traditional Mediterranean hemstitching techniques are reminiscent of antique tablecloths or lingerie. Prints and colors that recall summer fruits like watermelons and cherries lend a familiar, vibrant energy that complements the leisurely pace of the day.

With Sunset, the mood shifts once again. The light softens, and the looks become more elegant. Pleated fabrics and cupro signify a particularly sophisticated moment, with elegant draping and a color palette that fades gently like the setting sun. Pleated dresses, low-slung skirts, and back-tie tops mark the transition from afternoon to evening.

LONG DAYS is Thinking MU’s way of capturing the Mediterranean light and everything it awakens within us. A collection that invites us to consciously enjoy summer, to extend each day, and to celebrate the lifestyle that defines us.
