G-STAR continues the THE DENIM series, a collaborative project that gives emerging designers the opportunity to explore denim from new perspectives. For the fourth edition, the brand is partnering with the Los Angeles-based design and innovation studio TOMBOGO. Founder Tommy Bogo combines technical construction with functional systems and a distinctive design language. The result is a pair of jeans that blends technical functionality with progressive design.
THE DENIM 004 originated from an everyday moment: Tommy Bogo spotted a pair of harness boots with distinctive strap closures and wondered how that concept could be applied to a pair of jeans. A visit to the G-STAR archive gave the idea its direction. Vintage hardware and iconic utility silhouettes formed the foundation for the final design. Strap and buckle elements, concealed pockets, multi-panel construction, and bold metal hardware lend the jeans their technical aesthetic. In this way, THE DENIM 004 fuses TOMBOGO’s progressive design language with G-STAR’s utility DNA.
