Taxi Girls’ – “Secret Handshake” + Exclusive Interview

1. Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to sip on while they listen to your new music?

j: Lots of coffee

G: Catnip of Le Noctem, because Vera loves it and it’s made in my hometown.

2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!

J: We just released our album Static and we are so freaking STOKED to have this out in the universe. We made some videos for Say It! Secret handshake and Midnight Mixtape and they are all freaking amazing

the directors knocked them all out of the park. We are playing at a few quebec festivals this summer and then heading out west in the fall!

3. Name 5 things we all should know about you as a band?!

V: 1. We are all actually very nice people

2. We are all from different hometowns

3. We all have very different music taste but still manage to make banger after banger together, which IMO defs adds to our special spicey-ness

4. We are all extremely hard working

5. We are all the coolest , obviously.

4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

J: Friperie Chic!

5. We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)

J: that we landed on the moon

6. If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

G: Special grants from Québec and Canada dedicated to favoring gender diversity on festivals and major events lineups and on records (extra money for putting female/non binary and trans people to the front : mixing, producing, arrangements, mastering, musicians)

7. Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

V: When life gives you lemons, make lemonade! No but for real, there is beauty in the messiness of everyday life and the dumpster fire of a world in which we live in, you just have to seek it out! And when you can’t, there’s always Taxi Girls 🙂

8.  A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls

J: I was actually thinking about a question I wished people would ask because I often think about it. Q: what is your favourite part of a song to write. A: always the bridge! It always had the same sentiment as the rest of the song but with a little twist. We usually write the lyrics to the bridge last and they’re always my favourite.
