Sheva Elliot – „Birds of a Feather“ + Exclusive Interview

1. Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to sip on while they listen to your new music?

Thanks for having me! Oh my, that’s a tough question. Whatever quenches your thirst, truly! Mocktails or margaritas, all’s fair game.

2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!

So much to tell honey! So, as you know, Birds of a Feather is the first single off the record. The music video is out as well! No new tour dates as of yet but a couple shows in California.

Yes new videos…but you’ll just have to wait for them!

3. We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)

I love this question. Thank you for it. Um, I wish Elvis was actually alive. Also, I didn’t know there were conspiracies about dinos or E.T. but will need to look into this asap.

4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

Ok another GREAT question. The gays really get it. It’s so hard to say because I feel I tailor my look depending on the track/moment. For example, for the music video for Birds of a Feather I pulled from the classic 90s Pepsi commercial starring Cindy Crawford – just simple Americana hotness. But I have another video coming out that’s very wild west wench – lace and corset energy.

I’d say I have three favorite looks:

Bell-bottoms, turquoise fringe 70s rock energy

Wild-West wench

Studio 64 Glamazon

5. Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

The songs on this record all reflect where I was at different places in my life. It came from a lot of grief that led to acceptance and ultimate empowerment. It’s the version of me between the last chapter and the next chapter. Not quite grown, but way more grown than before.

6. Beside music, do you have any special talents?

I’m really good at making bouquets!

7. Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!

I say what I mean & mean what I say in my music

Fashion & art direction is VERY important to me (and yes, I style & direct all my videos!)

I write on the piano but when I play live shows, I just like to dance with my tambourine & let someone else play keys

I am a bottomless pit when it comes to vintage leather and fringe.

This is just a fun-fact because I sing rock & soul, but I actually spent a lot of my youth singing Barbra Streisand & Whitney Houston songs! I feel your readers would appreciate that one.

I write bass & guitar lines with my voice.

8. The road so far…. who or what was your biggest support??

One of my besties. She came along with the band & I and it was SO HEALING to just unwind with her after the show and giggle and recap. Tour can be very lonely, especially when you’re rolling with a hoard of straight boys. Love them, but I need my woman medicine.

9. A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls

Libra Sun, Gemini Moon, Sagittarius Rising.
