1. Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to sip on while they listen to your new music
Oooh, I like this question. I’d suggest sipping something on something nice and sophisticated. For those of you enjoying a stiffer libation I’d go mezcal negroni w/ an orange slice and maybe a lil piece of dark chocolate to nibble on as well. Smoky, mysterious, bitter, & slightly sweet at the end. If we’re keeping it a lighter I’d suggest a slim tonic, grapefruit and rosemary in one of those huge wine glass looking goblets. Drama.
2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!
It’s been such a journey for me!
As with any artist the navigation always has its parallels but everyone’s is so different. I’ve had such an inconsistent relationship with labels and start and stop processes on projects due to that. I’ve never released an album in my career actually, so I’m so excited that I’m in the position to finally do that now. I’ve been crafting iterations of this project for a few years now, between many cities I’ve lived in and many chaotic and beautiful moments in my life. Finally being in a place to keep the consistency and pace with my work releasing feels incredible. Love Right Here with Emeli is the first taste of an abundance of long overdue Parson material.
3. We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)
I think it has to be alien related because it feels like we’re pretty close to seeing these divas in some capacity. Isn’t it crazy like UFO videos are coming out and people are like so stressed out they’re like “oh, okay”. lol. Anyway my conspiracy that I love is that aliens are actually underwater rather than in the sky. Like if you think about it ONLY 5 percent of ocean explored? Have you ever seen an octopus be its perfect little octopus self? Just so magical and wildly weird like that little thing probably knows something we don’t about what lies beneath. Not above. I’m just saying.
4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?
I don’t know if there’s a brand per se that would describe the music. I’m quite big on wearing clothing made by friends and people on a smaller scale for live and for music related things. I’d say I have a bit of a uniform I’ve curated over the years & the music does reflect it. A jacket with a rhinestone. A boot. A NECESSARY wide brim hat, mock neck t, black jeans is the sound of Parson to me.
5. Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?
My music is always written from a place of reflective conversations with myself. I’ve always been a bit bad at writing directly in the moment though I can be pulled and inspired to start ideas during a breakup and what not I generally like to take breath and look at the full scope of things. I’m a pretty even scaled person, I see all sides of most things and I try and find the hope or sliver of silver lining even if I’m holding the person accountable or acknowledging the immense pain of a situation. Unrequited love, reminder of self love, accountability, searching for light at the end of the tunnel, truth seeking and unification are major themes within this latest project.
6. Beside music, do you have any special talents?
I can memorize like anything from glancing at it. I remember old WiFi passwords, phone numbers, full pages of texts etc. I also don’t write any lyrics down I memorize everything. I’m not sure if that’s a skill or like if there’s something going up there.
7. Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!
Im an over communicative artist
I’m rarely satisfied with a final product bc I always feel there is more to say
I treat my music as genuine conversations
I have stage fright even if I don’t seem like it
I genuinely strive to be timeless
8. The road so far…. who or what was your biggest support??
The road has been full of a plethora of adventure. My career started in a way that’s a bit abnormal with my first major release ever becoming this global and now nostalgic edm record that I am so proud of. It has its cons too when it comes to the separation of myself in my solo endeavors. So there have been many friends family and people along the way who have had to help navigate me out of headspace’s that were not conducive to my growth. My mom being the main person as a constant voice of reason. My friends who have been in this industry far longer than I. JoJo & Nicole Scherzinger are two of my sisters that I have leaned on for more than a decade and find solace in their viewpoints, wisdom and guidance when things get murky. I feel incredibly lucky for the women in my life.

“parson do you want to get married, your songs are so much about heartbreak” YES, and as Raye would say where the hell is my husband???
