Lardini presents Tokyo Music Room, a new editorial and digital project born from the meeting between the brand’s Italian tailoring tradition and Tokyo’s contemporary cultural and music scene.
Through an intimate and authentic view of the Japanese metropolis, the project portrays a side of Tokyo far from common stereotypes: a city of suspended atmospheres, quiet details, and everyday creativity. The visual narrative unfolds through spontaneous and natural images, where the artists move through urban spaces wearing the new Lardini collection. The garments interact naturally with the city’s architecture, among natural reflections, geometric shadows, and metropolitan landscapes, blending the brand’s elegance with the creative rhythm of the city.
To tell this story, Lardini selected two leading figures from Japan’s contemporary music scene, both united by a strong aesthetic sensibility and a distinctive personal artistic vision.
The first is Akira Arasawa, a house DJ and producer who gained recognition in Tokyo’s underground scene in 2024 thanks to his sophisticated and atmospheric style. His productions combine the relaxed sounds of chill mountain and organic house with the dynamic grooves of nu disco, creating immersive sound journeys inspired by his travels and international musical vision. A contemporary and cosmopolitan approach that naturally reflects Lardini’s attitude.
Alongside him is Tendre, the solo project of Taro Kawahara, one of the most refined voices in Japan’s indie and alternative scene. A multi-instrumentalist and composer, Kawahara personally shapes every aspect of his musical universe, playing bass, guitar, keyboards, and saxophone. His language blends pop, soul, and urban jazz in an elegant and balanced way, where technical versatility and attention to detail become central elements of his artistic storytelling. A sensibility that recalls the values of craftsmanship and savoir-faire that have always been part of Lardini’s identity.
With Tokyo Music Room, Lardini continues its journey of cultural and narrative exploration, creating a series of stories dedicated to the cities and markets where the brand is present, through personalities able to interpret its sensibility, style, and contemporary vision.
