1. Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to sip on while they listen to your new music?
A: Whatever drink gets you extroverted. For me personally, I would have to go with good grape raki (or rakija, depending on which side of the Balkans you’re on). When it’s well made, it has this magical ability to turn complete strangers into old friends.
2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!
First part of the album EKSTROVERT is already out along with two music videos and three visualizers. Still pondering if I should burn money on the third music video. Lots of shows coming up, mostly in Kosovo and Albania but also random (from my perspective) European countries from Estonia to Austria. Introvert coming out on November. One or two videos from that part of album too!
3. We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)
Conspiracy theories have always been around, I guess. I’d go with the nineteenth century classic: Albanians have tails! It would be incredible to tail-slap the heck out of all of the non-tail carrying humans whenever they lied that we have tails!
4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?
Scooby-doo. (Naked).
5. Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?
Every song is built around a contradiction. Wanting intimacy while craving independence. Looking for authenticity while performing for other people. Wanting to belong while wanting to be unique. I believe that’s the essential element of being human.
6. Beside music, do you have any special talents?
I possess an uncanny ability to match the exact amount of bread to whatever stew I’m eating, so that the final spoonful and the final piece of bread disappear simultaneously.
7. Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?
- I use contemporary sounds, but my musical structures and harmonies are closer to 1700s.
- The lyrics are the centerpiece of my songs.
- Every song is a different genre.
- I believe being vulnerable is the only way to allow ourselves to improve as humans.
- I’m struggling to make myself be a brand.
8. The road so far…. who or what was your biggest support??
I grew up in a family that encouraged all of us kids to be creative and write music. My big brother Genc is 10 years older than me, a legend of the Prishtina alternative music scene, and a total inspiration to my ways of doing things. My middle brother Bardh has given hip to my hop and encouraged me to seek my own space. My mom has taught me love; my dad has shown me realness. My partner Likana has carried all of these but with even finer clarity and sophistication. And my daughter Io is finally making me make sense of me.
9. A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls
Hmmmm… maybe the question: “A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls”, and absolutely, definitely my answer would be: “Hmmmm… maybe the question: ‘A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls’, and absolutely, definitely my answer would be: Hmmmm… maybe the question: ‘A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls’, and absolutely, definitely my answer would be: ‘Hmmmm… maybe the question: ‘A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls’, and absolutely, definitely my answer would be:”…
