IWC Schaffhausen presents a new version of the Ingenieur Automatic 35 featuring a striking dial in the new „Pool“ color. This refreshing, aquatic hue casts the Ingenieur’s signature clean architecture in a new light. The 35-millimeter stainless steel case and integrated bracelet ensure excellent wearer comfort, while the sophisticated combination of satin-finished and polished surfaces creates an attractive interplay of light—by day and night.
In 1976, the legendary Geneva-based artist and watch designer Gérald Genta created the Ingenieur SL,
Reference 1832. With its revolutionary, purist design language and striking presence, it heralded the birth
of an entirely new product category in the watch industry. Even half a century later, this luxury
stainless-steel sports watch with an integrated bracelet has lost none of its allure.
In 2023, IWC Schaffhausen revived Gérald Genta’s visionary design with the Ingenieur Automatic 40.
While the model pays tribute to the original’sdistinctive aesthetic, it has also been comprehensively
re-engineered to meet the highest standards ofergonomics and craftsmanship.
Since then, the Swiss luxury watch manufacturer hascontinuously expanded the collection. A key milestone
was the introduction of the Ingenieur Automatic 35—amodel featuring a more compact case size of
35 millimeters. Now, IWC Schaffhausen is opening a new chapter with a dial that surprises in the new “Pool” color.

The Ingenieur Automatic 35 (Ref. IW324902) features a 35-millimeter case and an integrated bracelet made of robust, durable stainless steel. The dial, in a fresh new „Pool“ color, serves as a striking focal point. It displays the „Grid“ pattern characteristic of the Ingenieur—comprising fine lines and squares—which lends it impressive visual depth. Rhodium-plated hands and applied indices filled with Super-LumiNova® create an elegant contrast and ensure excellent legibility, even in poor lighting conditions. The distinctive bezel—another unmistakable design feature of the Ingenieur—is secured to the case ring by five functional screws. The bracelet, attached to the case via its center links, optimizes ergonomics and ensures a smooth, comfortable fit on the wrist. The „Probus Scafusia“ emblem on the crown underscores IWC’s unwavering commitment to craftsmanship and outstanding manufacturing quality.
“Our new ‘Pool’ color is a radiant, fresh aquatic hue that is perfect for summer
and gives the Ingenieur a surprising, dynamic new look. The dial captures the light beautifully
and perfectly complements the clean lines and refined proportions of the Gérald Genta-inspired
integrated bracelet design,”says Christian Knoop, Creative Director of IWC
Schaffhausen.
