GHEIST – “Paradise” + Exclusive Interview

Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to sip on while they listen to your new music?

Probably tequila. The new music feels more direct, instinctive and alive to us. But there’s still enough emotional depth in it for a glass of red wine somewhere towards sunrise.

Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!

A lot changed behind the scenes over the last months. We rebuilt the live show from the ground up, entered a new creative chapter together with Ramon, and started approaching music in a much more direct and instinctive way again.

Our latest singles “Good Life” and “Paradise” are the first real glimpse into that new energy. At the same time we’re working on a lot of new music, new visual concepts and pushing the live side of GHEIST into a much more energetic and club-focused direction.

Name 5 things we all should know about you as a band?!

GHEIST was born out of the collision between indie songwriting and underground club culture in Berlin.

Atmosphere has always been more important to us than fitting into one specific genre.

We completely rebuilt our live show from scratch over the last months to open a new creative chapter.

Our finished album was shelved because it no longer reflected where the project was emotionally heading.

The dancefloor is still the place where GHEIST makes the most sense to us emotionally and creatively.

What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

Less a specific brand and more a certain feeling. Fashion and visual aesthetics are definitely important to us. We genuinely appreciate high quality pieces, beautiful fabrics, strong silhouettes, and the feeling certain clothing can create emotionally and physically.

What never really interested us that much were loud logos or fashion purely as status symbolism. We’re much more drawn to things that feel honest, understated and emotionally charged in their design language.

That probably connects quite naturally to our music as well.

We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)

Probably E.T. living quietly somewhere in California. He was curious, lovely, peaceful, and just wanted to go home. Hard not to like that.

If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

We would probably bring back a little more space for artistic development without constant pressure for immediate results. Some of the most meaningful music needs time, mistakes, experimentation and evolution.

At the same time we also understand that every generation changes the way music is discovered and experienced. So for us it’s less about fighting change and more about finding honest ways to stay creative inside it.

Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

Most of our music starts from emotion rather than concept. We’re usually trying to capture certain feelings, tensions or moments that are difficult to explain with words alone. A lot of it lives somewhere between euphoria and melancholy, intimacy and escapism.

Especially over the last months, the music became more direct and instinctive again. Less overthinking, more emotional honesty. We still care deeply about atmosphere and depth, but we also wanted the new songs to carry more physical energy and movement for the dancefloor again.

At the core, GHEIST has probably always been about creating spaces where people can disconnect from everyday reality for a moment and fully lose themselves emotionally.

A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls

Q: What did you have to let go of creatively in order to move forward?

Probably the idea that every piece of music has to prove something intellectually or artistically all the time. Over the years we realised that simplicity, directness and emotional instinct can sometimes be just as powerful as complexity.

That shift changed a lot for us creatively and also brought a new sense of freedom back into the project.
