Editorial: Emil Montenegro – Top Model Interview

Emil Montegro a global veteran model from Montegro who recently moved across the Atlantic to make his home in New York.  The fashion industry has given him a warm welcome with major magazine covers such as MyNewYork, StyleCruze, Selin, and Holloway.   Emil settled in quickly and was walking the runway for several designers during New York Fashion Week.  The experienced model also did not take long to  recognize the talent of New York based  Photographer Roger Nguyen, who is a frequent contributor to Twisted Male Magazine.  With so much fashion industry talent available in New York it was obviously fate that brought these two artists together.  Their collaboration yielded epic images that graced the covers and pages of so many magazines.

The handsome hunk recently took some time out to provide Twisted Male with an Exclusive Interview and catch us up on all his recent whirlwind activities since arriving in New York.  Only a true veteran fashion model can look equally good in photos and video clips.

1. It began in Montenegro, at the “Face of Montenegro” contest. Then Italy — Milan and Paris — shaped my career. Working for Vivienne Westwood, Roberto Cavali, Louis Vuitton and many others, made me realize this could be my life. Being featured in Vogue Italia, participating in Pitti Uomo in Florence, and appearing on numerous magazine covers across Europe and Asia showed me that hard work truly opens doors.

2. What are you doing if you are not modeling?

When I’m not modeling, I’m creating. I paint, I write songs, and sometimes I design or put together new outfit ideas. I always need an outlet for creativity.

3. The most spontaneous/difficult/strange thing you’ve ever done?

I wouldn’t say it was difficult, but it was definitely necessary—moving to another continent to focus on my emotional and personal growth. It meant leaving my family behind and stepping into the unknown on my own. Being far from them is never easy, but sometimes you need distance to truly grow and find your own happiness.

4. What’s your life motto?

Have only good intentions and trust God. Everything comes at the right time.

5. Describe your personal style – Favorite brands/fragrance?

I would describe my style as elegant with a modern edge. I appreciate high-quality fabrics and clean silhouettes, but I also enjoy comfort—sweatpants and hoodies have their place too. It all depends on where I’m going… from the opera to the gym, it’s a full spectrum.

When it comes to fragrance, I gravitate toward strong, distinctive scents. Right now, I love Bond No. 9 “Queens,” Guerlain “Santal Royal,” and Balmain “Carbone.”

I don’t limit myself to one brand—every label has something special if you know how to see it.

6. What genre of music best describes you?

At home, I’m very nostalgic and emotional. I listen a lot to Lana Del Rey—especially during more introspective periods. I also go back to classics like old Britney Spears and Madonna.

When I’m out, it’s completely different—I prefer faster, more energetic music that matches the movement of the city.

7. Where are your roots – The best thing about your hometown?

I come from Montenegro, and what I value most there is the connection—family, childhood friends, and the simplicity of life. Growing up by the Mediterranean Sea is something special. The energy, the nature, and the coastline stay with you wherever you go.

8. Name one celebrity you’d like to get naughty with!

Honestly, I’ve never been drawn to celebrities in that way. I can admire someone’s work or presence, but I don’t really have a “celebrity crush.” Maybe that world just isn’t my focus.

9. Do you have any special talents?

I paint—mostly oil on canvas—and I write songs. Creativity is a big part of who I am.

I’m also very intuitive. Sometimes I dream about situations or people before they actually appear in my life, which is something I’ve learned to trust.

10. What is the most interesting thing online at the moment?

Right now, I’d say AI. It’s creative, unpredictable, and sometimes even funny. It’s changing the way we express ideas and interact with the world.
