Eau the Music – „In This Silence,“ + Debut Album ‚Light in the Dark‘ + Exclusive Interview

Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to sip on while they listen to your new music?

My go to these days is chai, bold yet comforting. So I’d say sip on a warm dirty chai. If you want something cold, definitely lemonade.

Please give us an update about your new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!

My debut solo album ‚Light in the Dark‘ is coming out October 16, on purple vinyl and digital formats. The first Single came out on July 17, called ‚In This Silence‘. My next single is a bilingual French/English song called ‚Ici Par Là/The Rest of Me‘, coming out August 14. Some upcoming shows include House of Targ on September 2, and Club Saw on November 12. I’m also excited to share that I produced and mixed the album myself!

Name 5 things we all should know about you as a band?!

Eau means water in French. For live shows, I have an amazing band I work with to bring the tracks to life. I believe everyone is creative. I’m a forever dreamer/optimist. I’m really into self-development/psychology/awareness/meditation.

What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

Whatever you feel at home in. For me that’s a really good quality tshirt and perfectly fitting jeans. There’s a side of me that loves to add some glam though, and I’m a big fan of Emily Haines‘ style (of the band Metric), in particular her leather jackets and shorts.

We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)

I love cats…so it would have to be the wacky theory that they get the nighttime ‚zoomies‘ because they’re all communicating as one or reconnecting to the mothership.

If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

I’m a dreamer so this will sound extreme, but in another world, or maybe long in the future, wouldn’t it be amazing if you could just have the job title of ‚artist‘, and it would be a salaried job like any other? With benefits, vacation, etc. The world would be a better place if people could follow their passions freely and have that outlet. I know i know…dream on…

Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

I write music very intuitively, by following my instincts. I love to mix alt rock with pop elements. There are a lot of contrasts in my music, and I love dreamy and trippy textures. This album is about transformation and hope. It was born out of my journey looking deeply within, where I learned to embrace acceptance and letting go, and reconnected to gratitude in a life-changing way. My hope is that it touches listeners.

A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls

As an artist, do you have doubts and fears? Yes! I believe all artists do! There are many doubts peppered in between moments of assuredness…’am i wasting my time‘, ‚am i good enough‘, ‚this isn’t ready for release‘, ‚just one more tweak with the mix‘, etc. I think sharing this is important: the doubts are always there, but I try to use them as part of my art. I think that opens up a vulnerability that people can connect to on some level.
