1. Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to sip on while they listen to your new music?
Appreciate you having me! I’d say you couldn’t go wrong with an aperol spritz while listening to this one. Great drink and the colour matches the vinyl pretty nicely.
2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!
We have two singles out right now with a third on the way on the day of the release of our new album called “Born To Break Even” (out July 31). The first single is the title track and has a real fun skate video with a puppet element, the second single is called “It Gets Worse” and has a stylish performance video and the third is called “Brightside” which will have a stylish performance video as well. We will be on tour supporting Teenage Bottlerocket in September and then do an album release tour in September/October all across Ontario and Quebec.
3. Name 5 things we all should know about you as a band?!
1. We are nice
2. We smell nice
3. We make all of our own music videos, from shooting and editing to lighting etc. (3 of us work in the film industry)
4. We have a very deep knowledge of The Simpsons
5. It often comes up interviews, but we have played at more prisons than the average band
4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?
A nicely broken in jean jacket with a pair of vans.
5. We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)
This is very specific to Toronto, but there is a very eccentric jewellery buyer named Oliver here and Sarah told me a theory that he is actually an alien and he needs the gold to fix his spaceship so he can go home.
6. If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?
I would make social media far less of a thing! I wish it were as simple as just making rad music and playing shows.
7. Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?
Our songs cover a wide variety of topics but there is a through line of positivity. We try to live by and encourage taking things as they come, approaching things with a good attitude and giving it your all. Even our songs that are more serious have a sense of hope and we also never shy away from humour!
8. A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls
I don’t get asked enough nerdy drum questions! Like what sticks I use. I proudly endorse Los Cabos Drumsticks, use the 2B model and encourage all drummers who haven’t already to switch to heavier sticks!
