Commodity, the modern American perfumery, proves that the journey is as important as the destination with the launch of its new fragrance.
The new fragrance, called JUICE, comes three years after the release of Milk, the brand’s current bestseller.
The gap between releases is mainly due to Juice not being part of Commodity’s original plan. Originally, the next scent was supposed to be a “non-floral floral scent” that already had a name. Commodity tested over 50 samples without achieving the desired effect.
It wasn’t until perfumer Nathalie Benareau of Symrise introduced a fruity scent with a distinct floral background that couldn’t be ignored that Commodity changed course. “The goal was never to launch a new fragrance just for the sake of novelty,” said Vicken Arslanian, co-founder and brand architect of Commodity. “We took our time to develop the right scent, even if it differed from our original plan.”
“Juice is unlike anything else in our range and I’m excited for customers to explore the three variations,” added Arslanian. The unexpected fragrance joins Commodity’s Scent Space Collection and is launched in three different versions: Juice-Personal, Juice Expressive and Juice+ Bold.
Each version reinterprets a traditional juicy scent with delicious notes of strawberry, raspberry and rhubarb. The differences between the three versions are reflected in the other key notes that are added to alter the projection and define each Scent Space.
Juice- Personal
For the close-to-the-skin fragrance Personal, fresh violet leaf provides a sparkling interpretation of Juice that shows the transparent side of ripe red fruits.
Juice Expressive
The strikingly unique Expressive blends perfectly ripe strawberries, rhubarb and raspberry pulp with an amberwood base until smooth.
Juice+ Bold
For the room-filling Bold, Juice was soaked in vetiver and patchouli to make it even richer.
