Byredo presents Infra Luna 2.0, in collaboration with Benoit Lalloz

Byredo Founder and Creative Director, Ben Gorham revisits a previous collaboration with French designer and light artist, Benoit Lalloz with Infra Luna 2.0 – a new iteration of the multi-sensory lamp that hybridises scent with sculptural light design. Evoking the iridescence of entomofauna, Infra Luna 2.0 is presented in dynamic pink, a fluorescent hue that redefines our perception of what is natural.

“Infra Luna 2.0 now features a pink hue, creating new , sensual blends of color, light, and scent. At night, when the lamp quietly watches over the studio, it softly releases its delicate scent and gentle glow. I sometimes hear faint vibrations, evoking the presence of a ghost. Invisible but ever- present, it orchestrates a harmony of sensations that resonate with those who are open to it. Maybe that’s what it means to possess a soul.”

A functional object to elevate any space, Infra Luna 2.0 melds the artistries of light and smell. Engineered to encase Byredo’s iconic smoked black glass candle, a halogen bulb suspended above features an innovative heating mechanism that transforms the candle wax into liquid without ever touching it – diffusing an invisible halo of scent from a glowing luminescence.

Inspired by the shimmering bodies of insects, the kaleidoscopic new shade – which also extends to the exterior packaging – blurs the parameters of the manufactured and the natural. Vibrant stripes, a mechanism of camouflage in the wild, is further integrated into the lamp’s cable for an unexpected design accent.

Oriented towards craftsmanship and with a shared devotion to boundary-pushing design and exacting finesse, the respective passions for light and scent come together again in this unique design piece.

The release of the limited-edition Infra Luna 2.0 coincides with the re-issue of the original Infra Luna in natural aluminium as a permanent addition to the Byredo Byproduct collection. Infra Luna 2.0 will be unveiled exclusively at MATTER and SHAPE design salon in Paris from 7 to 10 March 2025, showcased through a special installation.
