BLOODHYPE – „THE LITTLE THINGS“ + Exclusive Interview

Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to zip on while they listen to your new music?

Thank YOU for having us! Kir Royal. The world should drink more Kir Royal. Chin Chin!

Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!

We just released our debut album MODERN EYES and the video of THE LITTLE THINGS – the single to the album –  on February 17. Elmar’s throwing some real nice shapes in the video! You’ll love it!

To celebrate the release we’ll be playing some very intimate shows in Berlin, Hamburg, Nürnberg, Dresden, Dortmund and Köln in March. Come by, it’ll be fun!

Name 5 things we all should know about you as a band?!

We’ve all known each other for quite a long time and still have a great desire to spend time together – Preferably on tour.

When we meet outside of the rehearsal space or the studio, we usually go out to eat at Mom’s – a vegan Vietnamese restaurant.

We really really love the creative people we work with. Shooting photos and videos for example, is always like a big family reunion.

We have the same values and definitely speak out against sexism, homophobia/transphobia, racism, patriarchy and other beliefs that exclude other people.

We’re looking forward to everything to come and appreciate the fact that we can do what we do.

What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

Hmmm. Great question! Maybe we can settle on Gucci or Prada from the 80s paired with a cozy Pepsi sweater found on a flea market in the 90s?

We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or ET. living in a home in California)

If the last few years have shown one thing, it is unfortunately that conspiracy theories are never harmless, as absurd and funny as they may sound. There are always people and their beliefs behind them.

If I have to come up with one anyways…  The idea of “The Truman Show” was quite cool. Who didn’t wonder what it’d be like to be the star of your own TV show (even unknowingly!).

For a moment it makes you feel so special. (… at the end of the movie I cried my heart out though, haha)

If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

If we could change anything in the music industry we would like to force everyone to buy our records, come to our shows and wear our merch. HAHA.

Unfortunately, there are many things that could be changed. It would be nice if everything was a bit more sustainable and not just about making money as fast as possible. However, we believe that the word „industry“ implies that.

Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

MODERN EYES mainly deals with topics like mental health, existential crises and fragile love – so basically it is about life. Since there were some ups and downs for us in the period in which the album was written, MODERN EYES reflects exactly these themes offering a space in which one can find oneself.

A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls

Have you ever stolen a keyboard sound from Genesis? – Yes, but don’t tell anyone
