1. Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers what kind of drink would you recommend to sip on while they listen to your new music?
Something that gives them pleasure but with a bit of edge, a comforting, warm beverage that makes you feel something when it goes down, I’m thinking a negroni, whiskey sour, maybe an Irish coffee.
2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!
Our first release of the year, and first as the new outfit of Black Lounge, ‘Welcome Home’ has just released this week. We recorded in late 2025 at RAK Studios with the amazing Danton Supple producing and mixing it with us. It’s a fresh start and step in a new direction for us into 2026 and we’re so stoked to have it out for you all to hear.
We’ve got a few support slots booked in over the next month, with Sawyer at The Elephants Head on 18th April and Danny Mellin at Dingwall’s on the 2nd May. With a bunch more lined up over the summer.
3. Name 5 things we all should know about you as a band?!
1. We’ve got members from the North, Southwest and Southeast of the UK as well as an antipodean from NZ
2. We dabble in DJ’ing too, we have some remix’s lined up for release later in the year and love to get a dancefloor moving.
3. George only started playing guitar in 2020
4. James Ladds is classically trained pianist
5. Jack Cassidy is from Newcastle
4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?
I think we fall in our own pocket of style somewhere across the spectrum of modern rock music. Not quite grunge and not quite indie, an amalgamation of all our favourite influences over the last 15 years. As far as fashion specifically goes, I’d have to say the late 90’s early 2000’s.
5. We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)
Lochness monster isn’t real
6. If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?
I think it’d come back to the expense of putting on shows and recording, its all just becoming such a barrier to entry for so many young bands which is such a shame to see.
7. Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?
Welcome Home speaks to the idea of never feeling comfortable anywhere, even at home. Our old songs you could pinpoint inspiration from britpop bands back in the day. Our new stuff is much more original. Most of our songs have a message, that’s up to you to find out what it is.
8. A question you’d like to answer but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls
Hmm. We will only know the question and answer once it’s been asked
