1. Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to zip on while they listen to your new music?
I would recommend 3: an aperol spritz to start with which reminds me of Milan where I live and where most of the songs were written, then nice German beer to celebrate the release with my German label and finally a Negroni to think of Rome, the city where we recorded the first songs..
By that time you’ll probably pretty tipsy and the album will sound great anyway..
2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!
New single is Calle Fading away, out Sept 6th. I urge you to check the video when it’s out as it tells the tragic story of Ukrainian ballet dancer Irina Hordiienko , who was invited in February 2022 by the Ukrainian Academy of Ballet in Milan to attend a two week stage. While in Italy however, the war in Ukraine started and Irina and her mother have not been able to come home since to reunite with Irina’s family.
Shortly after the stage the two women, not knowing where to go or what to do, by chance met an Italian stranger on the street, who decided to take them in and share her home with them.. me and Nico Malaspina, the director, really wanted to tell this story.
Tour dates-watch out..
3. We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)
Michael Jackson is still alive and writing a bunch of hits which he’ll release soon..
4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?
I think it’s all about finding your own style, in music and in fashion. Something you feel comfortable in and that represents you.
Usually for me that will mean a multi brand look.. With my band Planet Funk we once created a shoe for Reebok, the Reebok Classic Planet Funk 2001..cool
Experience..
5. Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?
I write about what I live through and what I’d like the or my world to be like.
I don’t have a universal message but I often write about roots and the feeling of belonging.
Therefore also the title’home’.
6. Beside music, do you have any special talents?
I used to play tennis for my home country but then decided for music.
I am also the musical director of the Voice in Italy and I have a pizzeria in Berlin. But special talent? I’d say capital cities..
7. Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!
-I still think music can save the world
-I don’t like photo shoots
-I hate when people ask “so? Are you ready?”before a gig.
-I never watched Star Wars
-I usually wear two pair of socks
8. How did you learn to sing/ to write/ to play??
I took piano lessons when I was young but am self tailgating when it comes to guitar or singing.
9. A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls
Who’s the best tennis player in history?
