1. Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to sip on while they listen to your new music?
Drink something soothing, sit back, and prepare to be comforted.
2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!
I dedicated my single “Closure” to a family member who we unexpectedly lost to COVID early in the pandemic. It was recently remixed by Vic Latino and I released it at the end of October. Then David Alexander’s remix of the song was released on December 5th, and now I’m excited to be releasing the original “Closure” by John Russell, arranged by Luke Blake, out on December 12th.
3. We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)
I don’t subscribe to conspiracy theories, in general, but if the theory of Incarnation were to be true, I’d like to come back as someone who had the power to make the world a kinder gentler place, where people would return to civility and commitment to the greater good of society.
4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?
Something classy, sophisticated, and timeless. Elegant black dress, minimalistic, below my knees could be high on my list any day.
5. Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?
My previous song “I Hold You Child” was in support of refugee children around the world. I was very lucky to work with the generous and empathetic Marc Klasfeld who had previously directed one of my favorite songs “See You Again” Wiz Khalifa ft. Charlie Puth. It was very important for me to show real refugee children in my music video. As I myself was born and raised in forced deportation, I strongly believe that no child’s eyes should ever see the horrors of war. It always breaks my heart to see refugee children and the unacceptable conditions under which they often live, even in the 21st century! It seems like in today’s world, humanity should do better than this.
My latest song “Closure”, inspired by the loss of a family member, acknowledges the fact that so many of us suffer a loss and never have the opportunity to be there in those final moments. I wrote this song to honor that feeling, and hopefully help others feel less alone going through a similar experience. At its core, “Closure” speaks to anyone who has experienced sudden loss — whether through bereavement, separation, or the quiet devastation of words left unsaid. It’s a song rooted in grief but lifted by empathy, offering comfort through shared experience. My music expresses my empathy for other people. My hope is that it comforts some listeners, and for others, I hope it inspires genuine empathy in themselves. It’s such a fundamental and important part of our shared human condition.
6. Beside music, do you have any special talents?
I’m an excellent driver 🙂
And I’m a great cook!
7. Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!
I speak five languages.
I have strong family values.
I have strong compassion for other people and enjoy expressing it.
I have an unending sense of optimism.
I have a lot more music to make!
8. The road so far…. who or what was your biggest support??
Moving to the US from Ukraine with no English, and no family or friends here, back 20 years ago we didn’t have WhatsApp, Signal, FaceTime to get emotional support from my loved ones back home. So I learned to believe in myself, and being persistent, optimistic, and hopeful kept me from giving up on my dreams. Today, I am lucky to have a circle of smart, truthful, loving, encouraging people who believe in me, keep me grounded, and keep me motivated.
