Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to sip on while they listen to your new music?
If you want to get into my mindset it’s a frozen strawberry daiquiri or marg. Either or, not fussed but it has to be frozen and strong.
Please tell us about your new single.
With pleasure! It’s called ‘I Believe’, it’s another hands in the air, euphoric banger. Inspired by those situations where someone comes into your life and changes it in an instant. Suddenly you believe that anything is possible. I fell in love with this record from the day we wrote it so I’m buzzing that it’s finally out.
We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true?
So random but I heard Starbucks purposely spell your name wrong so you post it on socials and then they get free advertising. Super smart marketing if true, alas I fear a few people just can’t spell Will and instead put Well.
What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?
Street style, comfortable fits but always baggy enough that you can party and eat without feeling restricted. Ideal.
Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?
I’m always aiming for those “moments”. I constantly picture the crowds hands in the air or with their arm around a best friend screaming the lyrics. It’s always got to be music that makes you feel something, moves you, provokes emotions but at the same time you can just take at face value as a big party record, that combo is the real winner.
Beside music, do you have any special talents?
Not many people know that I’ve got a private pilots license! Planes are mad when you stop and think about it, they fly in the sky?! Justice for the aviation geeks. I demand it be deemed cool.
Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!
It’s been a long time in the making, I did my first paid ‘gig’ when I was 8 years old (it was a disco at a local school but it still counts).
I also write songs for other artists and had my first UK Top 10 last summer with BL3SS x CamrinWatsin Ft. bbyclose – Kisses. There’s a few other bangers I’ve written for others coming this summer.
Before any live show I get quite nervous and it’s probably the only time you’ll hear me go quiet.
Despite that fact I’m also happiest when playing live, I love creating in the studio but playing to a crowd is my happiest place.
If you see me drinking on stage it’s either still ice cold water or tequila pineapple – you can often tell which.
The road so far…. who or what was your biggest support??
There have been many many people on this long journey who have come into my life and helped in so many ways, it really has been a build up of so many baby steps. From my first manager Jason who discovered me on Facebook when I was 16 years old. There was a video of me DJing that caught his attention and it lead to me becoming a tour DJ for the likes of Iyaz (remember that banger Replay?). Jason also got me onto national radio for the first time! More recently artists like Joel Corry, Ellie Goulding and Calvin Harris have offered up great advice and guidance on my music and how to navigate the industry. All of it has got me here now. I’m super grateful to everyone.
A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls
This possibly the hardest question I’ve ever been asked!!!
I guess it’s what motivates me to release music and the answer is to prove to myself that I can do anything I put my mind to. I’ve had such an incredible career on the radio for 18 years, I managed to work my way up the ranks over that time and now I want to do it all over again with my artist career. I love a challenge so let’s take it on.
