The vegan sneaker from The Rice Society combines tradition and innovation because it is handmade from extraordinary materials such as rice chaff, which can even be seen in the sole. In addition to rice chaff, the sneakers only use corn and apple waste, cactus leather and vegan suede, GOTs certified organic cotton and recycled materials.
The rice chaff comes from a paella rice plantation that is only 40 kilometers from the in-house production facility in Elche, Spain. Production is powered exclusively by green energy, with over 50% solar energy for the shoes and 100% solar energy for the outsoles. By using this unique and eco-friendly material, the brand actively contributes to minimizing its environmental footprint while promoting local sourcing and ethical labor practices.
