Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to zip on while they listen to your new music?
Definitely an espresso martini, these are something I always like to start off with when meeting friends or at the start of a night or event. Not only does it pick you up and put you in the perfect mood, but I find your energy then picks everyone else up and off we go…
2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!
I have a recent new single out called ‘Feeling’ which I wrote with one of my best friends MURPHY, its the first track we did together after knowing each other for 10 years and his first release ever so really important to both of us.
I have a UK and Europe tour coming up in April across London, Paris, Amsterdam, Dublin, Manchester and Glasgow and im heading out to the US before that for some tour support dates with Vandelux and also a week in LA of writing sessions and shoots.
3. We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)
That we are all in a matrix or artificially generated world. I think it answers a lot of questions about faith and god and would hopefully unify everyone together.
4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?
I’d say a white-label minimal brand, pastel colours, outdoor fit for roadtrips and late night adventures. Comfortable but uplifting and purposeful.
5. Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?
My music is a specific feeling and that feeling is warmth, euphoria, nostalgia mixed together. I always write with certain situations in mind whether its a late night drive, the early hours of a sunset abroad or being in a club with your friends/lover with everything around you blurred out. Seems to always be one of those three situations that comes into my head for some reason.
6. Beside music, do you have any special talents?
Really struggling here I think I may have put all my eggs in one basket. I would say I went down a proper camera wormhole a few years ago and I love cinematography and video creative. I have a sony camera and 3 lenses with a tripod on me at all times wherever I go and I think it ties in with the music in a way of expressing emotion and creating moments.
7. Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!
– I’m quite an introverted person if you meet me
– My original aim was to be a songwriter and write songs for people
– I am against/ don’t use any AI in any of my music
– My best ideas come to me when im driving in my car on long journeys. I record them to voice notes in the moment and belt them out along the motorway
– I started my career as a complete skeptic of fate or ‘things written in the stars’ kind of person but I now genuinely feel like things happen for a reason and things fall into place if you give them the right energy and time.
8. How did you learn to sing/ to write/ to play??
My godfather and I share the same name and I was given a toy saxophone before I can remember remembering anything. I then started learning piano from 4/5 and saxophone from aged 7. I remember I had to wear a special harness originally as it was too heavy on me. Writing I started learning chords in a class in music at school and was amazed you could just create your own progressions and melodies. Thats where my love for it started.
9. A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer
pls
Would I be doing this as a career if there was no audience, no recognition / nobody even knew I was doing it or cared to?
I came up with that question the other day somehow and it made me really think about why anyone is an artist etc. I think it depends what your in it for, I absolutely love writing music and the emotion it gives me is the same emotion I hope to give other people through it. But Im happiest writing and producing music and then listening back and really, properly feeling it on my own whether its 2am at night alone or in my car. So yes I’d be making music, but purely out of the emotion it gives me. I’d probably not be doing social media content and all that though but I’d assume most artists would also agree with that.
Thank you
