1. Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to sip on while they listen to your new music?
I would say a herbal tea, perhaps peppermint or camomile flavour. With this song, you have to put your headphones in, sit back, close your eyes and absorb the journey. I think this sort of drink would compliment that experience quite well.
2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!
I have just released my brand new single „You“. It’s a stream of consciousness song, that builds from a delicate piano ballad into a huge cinematic rocker. Lyrically it’s all about trying to stay in control, and taps into the push and pull of holding on and letting go. This is the first time I have written an alternative rock song with this level of scale and grandeur, so it’s been very exciting for me. I am hoping to perform it at some live shows very soon.
3. We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)
I do love a conspiracy theory. I’d like to think that all the great artists who have passed away – one of my favourite singers is Freddie Mercury – are still writing great songs in another dimension.
4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?
I have never been asked this before! I might say AllSaints, as you could say my songs are full of dark tones and textured layers, but with a cinematic and thoughtful touch? And I do wear leather jackets on stage!
5. Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?
My songs dive into the human experience. I write a lot about the emotional world, mental health, relationships and personal journeys. Everything very much comes from within. I would describe them as piano and guitar-led too, with larger-than-life choruses and big vocals. If there’s some way I can add drama into a song I will.
6. Beside music, do you have any special talents?
I have been complimented on my impressions, which I guess comes from being also being a singer? Imitating voices of family, friends – and celebrities – is so much fun.
7. Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!
1. I love animals! My two dogs bring me huge pleasure every day.
2. I am the biggest fan of coffee. Take me to a new coffee shop and I’ll be your best friend forever.
3. Fitness is just as equally important to me as music. But I do like to party as well…
4. My mental health struggles are the biggest inspirations for my music. I’m all about trying to spread messages of hope.
5. I am a huge fan of the band Keane – people have told me they can hear their influence in my songs and that’s a lovely compliment.
8. The road so far…. who or what was your biggest support??
My family have been unwavering in their support for me. They come to my gigs, are very honest about my songs, and are always there if I need a boost. I’m so lucky to have them.
9. A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?!
What’s your favourite breed of dog? The cockapoo.
