PORSCHE DESIGN: Elevating Eyewear – when precision technology meets iconic design

The new Streamline series, which takes up the sporty design of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, an icon of precision mechanics and high-performance aerodynamics, is a perfect mix of innovative technology and exceptional craftsmanship. The collection is characterized by a unique temple design that is reminiscent of the rear wing of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS.

The Streamline series combines aerodynamic shapes with titanium and RXP® for optimal performance and elegance. It is made of 100 percent titanium, partially paired with RXP®, guaranteeing maximum durability. The collection includes four models: the outstanding sunglasses model P’8986 – worn by new Porsche Design testimonial Orlando Bloom – in black and red with polarized gray lenses and in olive green and black with green polarized XTR lenses. The color palette is expanded by a dark green model and a gray-silver model. The second model P’8987 has a slim full titanium frame and is available in different colors with polarized lenses. The collection is complemented by the titanium correction frame P’8779 and the model P’8780 with a double bridge design.

The series uses a high-tech material known for its exceptional strength and durability, as well as its remarkable heat and corrosion resistance. The bracket structure combines the carbon fibers proven in Porsche sports cars, soft rubber and a metal core into a three-component construction that offers stability, flexibility and a high level of comfort.

The new collection includes two striking sunglasses models: the P’8977 model is characterized by a masculine, geometric double bridge design, the second sunglasses model, P’8979, features slightly rounded lines. The series is rounded off by six new optical models: P’8771 is characterized by a slightly rounded, classic shape, P’8772 has a sporty, rectangular design. The rimless model P’8774 is available with three lens shapes. All three models have stainless steel fronts and 3-component brackets. Completing the collection is P’8781, a rectangular model with an RXP® front and temples made of soft rubber and carbon fiber.

The series embodies the elegance and performance of the Porsche 911. The temples go through over 200 manufacturing processes to make the titanium corrosion and heat resistant and to create a play of light. Spring hinges and adjustable nose pads increase wearing comfort, while titanium makes the frames ultra-light and durable.

The new models from one of Porsche Design’s best-selling series include two sunglasses. The P’8984 sunglasses have a rectangular shape with a double bridge made entirely of titanium. The second model, P’8985, is a round unisex sunglasses. The series is completed by two correction models: P’8777, made entirely of titanium, and the model P’8778, which is characterized by a rectangular shape with RXP® front, titanium temples with adjustable end pieces for additional comfort.
