The eyewear collection was developed in close collaboration between the teams in Berlin and Cologne and is handcrafted with the utmost precision in the MYKITA HAUS in Berlin. Inspired by RIMOWA’s signature aluminum designs and MYKITA’s innovative manufacturing methods, MYKITA | RIMOWA represents a new generation of iconic sunglasses with a timeless blend of form and function.
The collection encompasses two design concepts that reflect the essence of both brands, embodying the shared values of lightness and durability.
HERITAGE
The HERITAGE series combines MYKITA’s signature stainless steel construction with RIMOWA’s iconic aluminum in a reinterpretation of classic sunglasses silhouettes. For the first time in MYKITA’s history, aluminum is used as a material – in three archetypal shapes: panto, rectangular, and aviator – perfect for a variety of face shapes. The Heritage models are framed with aluminum rings in silver or black, reminiscent of RIMOWA’s signature finishes, and provide additional stability. Premium sunglasses lenses with 100% UV protection ensure excellent optical clarity, while innovative anti-reflective and special coatings minimize reflections and ensure maximum durability.
VISOR
The VISOR series features an ultra-lightweight shield design, conceived as a functional, mobile travel companion. Ultra-lightweight stainless steel meets a toric lens with a horizontal and vertical base curve – a design that adapts harmoniously to the face. MYLON® Shield clip technology combines functionality with style, underscoring the technical innovation of both brands. The specially developed lens offers 100% UV protection in various tints – from full-color to semi-transparent to subtly mirrored – and ensures comprehensive glare and reflection protection.
Each pair of glasses comes with a certificate of authenticity, confirming the outstanding craftsmanship and exclusivity of the collection.
