CHINESE NEW YEAR CAPSULE
Expressed in tones of red and gold, colours that symbolise prosperity and good fortune, each piece in this season’s capsule has been crafted to be a trusted companion for new journeys. At the heart of the capsule lies The Montblanc Horse – an original illustration by Artistic Director Marco Tomasetta that captures the elegant horse as it gallops among clouds, a symbol of steadfast optimism leading into the new year. Emerging from a flowing line drawn by a fountain pen, the infinity-shaped cloud motif that accompanies the horse offers a discrete nod to both Montblanc’s craftsmanship and to Chinese cultural tradition: the ‘infinite 8’ symbol is drawn in such pattern to test the nib of every Montblanc fountain pen, while the number 8 is traditionally seen a symbol of prosperity and good fortune in Chinese culture.
The Chinese New Year capsule features a Thin Briefcase and Mini Crossbody in embroidered gabardine fabric with leather detailing, alongside a Pen Pouch, Passport Holder, and Notebook in printed Sartorial leather.
