The legend of Sandokan returns – to screens and into the minds of all those who see travel as an adventure. To celebrate the release of the new television series Sandokan, produced by Lux Vide in collaboration with Rai Fiction and directed by Jan Maria Michelini and Nicola Abbatangelo, Mandarina Duck has launched a special capsule collection called Sandokan – The Journey is the Story.
“The collaboration with Sandokan arose from the idea of connecting two worlds that share the same essence: travel as an experience of freedom, identity, and discovery. Our storytelling with Sandokan stems from the desire to unite two worlds that share the same DNA, namely that of travel,” explains Maristella Cervellera, Marketing Director of Mandarina Duck.
The collection includes the Logoduck+ model, the brand’s signature design, reimagined in two unique colorways, reinterpreting the series‘ symbolism within a lifestyle context. Each suitcase, inspired by the series‘ characters, becomes a „visual passport“ that tells a story. The design evokes the colors of the Borneo landscape, with its tigers boasting distinctive fur, lush forests, and crystal-clear waters—the setting for Sandokan’s adventures. The suitcases are adorned with the series‘ logo and animal motifs reminiscent of the adventures of the Malaysian tigers, penned by the brilliant Turin-born writer Emilio Salgari. Each model will be available in three sizes: Beauty, Cabin, and Medium.

In addition, there are five exclusive luggage tags, each dedicated to one of the series‘ protagonists: Sandokan, Yanez, Lord Brooke, Marianna, and Sergeant Murray. Thus, each suitcase becomes a visual passport for ever-new and unique stories.
The Capsule Collection is an ode to travel, where the suitcase is more than just a companion on adventures. It’s an invitation to be guided by the allure of the mysterious and adventurous, to discover exotic and unexplored destinations between cities and pristine nature.
The collection was unveiled on October 17th at the MAXXI – Museo Nazionale delle Arti del XXI Secolo (National Museum of 21st Century Art) during the series‘ premiere at the Rome Film Festival. Simultaneously, the windows of the Mandarina Duck flagship store in Rome will be adorned with the collection’s six models to mark the occasion.
The collection reaffirms Mandarina Duck’s love for architecture as a catalyst and inspiration for stylish journeys of discovery, continuing the path begun with the Spring/Summer 2025 campaign, which was dedicated to the postmodern masterpiece La Muralla Roja by Bonfim in Spain.
