1. Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to sip on while they listen to your new music?

Well, my upcoming record, LFA, actually name-checks a few drinks so how about one of them: Whisky-Sour or Cognac?! Or for non-drinkers: Weak Black Tea!

2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!

My new record, my 6th studio album, is called ‚LFA‘ and will be released later this year. The first single is called ‚Midnight Calls‘ and is out now! I wrote it whilst living on the West Coast and it was tracked at East West Studios on Sunset Boulevard. It’s a love letter from London to LA, shaped by the experience of relocating and absorbing the mythology of Hollywood. Driving through the city at all hours, inspired by the Hollywood Hills and the legacy of those who built the industry, it’s about being on the brink of change. It’s always interesting when you have a life in both the UK and US as I find I am awake at all times of the day and night catching up with people, which can trick your brain into new areas of creativity.

The video is out now on YouTube and doing really well. It’s a cool concept of mixing behind the scenes footage from East West and some beautiful shots from driving round LA!

3. We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)

Oh how I would absolutely love Elvis to be working down at the local takeout joint! That would be spectacular!!

4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

All dressed up and nowhere to go! My music is definitely inspired by stories and dreams, which quite often hits against the day-to-day ordinary life!

5. Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

Well LFA was written whilst I was living in Los Angeles and it’s a kind of love letter to the city. There are many name checks to Hollywood and the various streets, the canyons, the environment etc. The subject is around being with someone in this new city and learning to navigate a new life.

6. Beside music, do you have any special talents?

I’ve danced my whole life and I have a photographic memory!

7. Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!

1. Transatlantic – I’ve spent many years living in London, New York and Los Angeles, and I love combining the energy of these amazing cities

2. Pet Shop Boys – My first gig was seeing them in London and they are central to my approach to music

3. Gretsch – My favourite guitars. I had a Chet Atkins 6120 for decades and my Silver Jet is a pride and joy

4. Videos – I have storyboarded and directed my own music videos for this new record

5. Live – My favourite thing to do is to play live and I have played some amazing venues in London (the 100 Club, the O2) and New York (The Bowery Electric, Rockwood Music Hall, The Bitter End).

8. The road so far…. who or what was your biggest support??

I think Boz Boorer. He’s been my mentor along the years. I met him rather by chance at the recording studio where I started out which is near to where we both live in London. Boz is best known for being Morrissey’s co-writer, guitarist and MD as well as the pioneer of British Rockabilly with his band The Polecats. He really took me under his wing when I was living in New York and he was touring with Morrissey. When we were in Houston one day, I very gingerly gave him some demo tapes and he was so kind to take a chance on me and give me studio experience and he produced my first two albums. We also wrote a song together on my second album which is very special to me, as he has written some of my favourite Morrissey songs. So I owe him a lot!

9. A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls
