The Year of the Wooden Snake 2025 is approaching, and Longines is proud to present a special model of the CONQUEST HERITAGE. The renowned Chinese artist Wu Jian’an was entrusted with the creation of a unique design: a mystical snake with a Lingzhi mushroom – also called Reishi – in its mouth, artfully engraved on the case back. In East Asian culture, the snake represents elegance, wisdom and transformation. She is known for her intuition and resilience, symbolizes rebirth and encourages reflection and personal development. Limited to 2,025 pieces, the CONQUEST HERITAGE YEAR OF THE SNAKE features a gradient red dial enhanced by the collection’s signature gold-colored hands and indices.
The snake has great importance in East Asian culture. It symbolizes wisdom, rebirth and vitality, and it represents hope for a bright future. In honor of the Lunar Year of the Snake, Longines has teamed up with Chinese artist Wu Jian’an to reimagine „The Theft of the Immortal Herb“ from the Chinese fairy tale „The Legend of the White Snake.“ Wu’s design entitled „Divine Serpent Presents Treasure“ combines East Asian cultural heritage with contemporary art. The motif shows a snake entwining a Lingzhi mushroom. Its shape spirals in concentric circles, reminiscent of waves that represent the passage of time and the continuation of life.
The motif Treasure” conveys wishes for harmony and prosperity while reflecting Longines’ desire to combine tradition and innovation. This fusion of cultures is a testament to the brand’s commitment to craftsmanship and creativity. To celebrate the Year of the Wooden Snake, Longines has engraved this unique motif on the back of a special Conquest Heritage model, limited to 2,025 pieces.
The Conquest collection, which represents daring and creative spirit, was the first Longines watch line to have its name trademarked in 1954. As a homage to the first Conquest models, the Conquest Heritage appeals to all lovers of vintage design and effortlessly combines the classic style of the 1950s with modern technologies. The Conquest Heritage Year of the Snake honors this heritage while incorporating traditional East Asian elements.
The watch features a 40mm stainless steel case with a beveled screw-down caseback engraved with a snake motif symbolizing good fortune. The bright red, curved, sunray and gradient dial features gold-plated hands and indices and offers a magnificent sight – in keeping with the New Year celebrations. The Conquest Heritage Year of the Snake is powered by the exclusive Longines caliber L888.5. It is equipped with a silicon coil spring and innovative components whose magnetic resistance exceeds the requirements of the ISO standard 764 ten times. This self-winding mechanical movement offers a power reserve of up to 72 hours.
