The Longines Legend Diver has evolved with precision for over six decades, testifying to the brand’s commitment to innovation and tradition in the field of high-quality diving watches. The latest chapter in the collection’s history includes a model with a new matte white dial and two new rubber straps. The distinctive watch, with its two crowns and internal rotating bezel, combines more than six decades of diving history with contemporary precision and timeless design.
In 2025, the Swiss watchmaker will introduce a model with a new matte white dial, offering strong contrasts and excellent legibility while preserving the collection’s distinctive DNA. The hours are marked by elongated indices and raised Arabic numerals, combined with satin-finished black and light green arrow hands with Super-LumiNova® coating for optimal visibility in all conditions. The sophisticated dial is protected by a domed sapphire crystal with black metallization and anti-reflective coating on both sides. The watch will be delivered on a stainless steel bracelet with central „grain of rice“ links, offering flexibility and comfort. The bracelet features a double safety folding clasp with micro-adjustment for a sophisticated look that combines technical sophistication with understated elegance.
The collection is completed by two models with blue or black lacquered rubber straps. They expand the diverse Legend Diver range, which has previously featured these striking dials with a stainless steel, leather, or nylon NATO strap. Combining comfort, durability, and fashionable style, rubber straps are a true must-have in 2025, making them a great choice for any occasion. This new option provides a contemporary look that combines the durability of rubber with the refinement of the Legend Diver design. Each of these new straps features a diver’s pin buckle, ensuring a secure fit – in the depths of the ocean as well as on land-based adventures.
All three timepieces feature an elegant 39 mm stainless steel case with alternating polished and satin-brushed finishes. The internal, bidirectional rotating bezel—a revolutionary feature first introduced by Longines in 1936—is located inside the case and operated by the screw-down crown at 2 o’clock. It features a 60-minute scale on the flange and a luminous triangular marker. This innovative design not only honors the tradition of the original model but also offers practical protection against accidental adjustment or shock.
In keeping with the high standards that the Longines brand sets for the performance of its watches, these models are certified as diving watches (ISO 6425) with water resistance to 30 bar (300 meters). The Legend Diver is also certified as a complete watch by the COSC (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres), thus guaranteeing the highest accuracy under all conditions. It is powered by the exclusive Longines caliber L888.6 with a silicon hairspring and other innovative components. These give it resistance to magnetic fields that exceeds the requirements of ISO standard 764 by a factor of ten. These high-precision automatic watches have a power reserve of up to 72 hours.
With its blend of historically inspired design and cutting-edge technology, the expanded Legend Diver collection also embodies the Longines philosophy that elegance is a matter of attitude – something that transcends time and is as relevant today as it was over six decades ago when its predecessor premiered.
