1. Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to sip on while they listen to your new music?
“Don’t Stop” needs something celebratory like a champagne cocktail or any drink that will get you on the dance floor- I know for some of my friends thats anything with Tequila in it! If you aren’t a drinker, I suggest puffing on a sativa-dominant hybrid!
2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!
The video for my last single “Reciprocation” just came out and my husband makes his debut in the Lily Lane Cinematic Universe in this one! It’s very fun and cheeky and silly. My new single “Don’t Stop” is streaming everywhere now- it is a fun y2k inspired bop. I am playing a show in NYC on the 11th of October, and have another show in LA on October 21st with a similar set list, showcasing the upcoming “Domesticated” EP which officially drops November 28th!
3. We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)
This isn’t a conspiracy theory it is factually true that women’s pockets are smaller than men’s pockets in clothing (look around!) BUT the conspiracy is that women’s pants pockets are made so small nothing can fit in them just to encourage us to buy handbags and purses.
4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?
My sound lives at the intersection of soul and pop, and visually it channels that through retro-modern femininity. It is polished but rebellious, nostalgic but forward-thinking. I pull from ’50s domestic iconography, 60’s Motown glamour, and early-2000s pop maximalism to create a style that feels both familiar, campy and subversive — like a love letter to classic femininity rewritten in my own voice.
5. Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?
I write about love, power, vulnerability, and self-discovery. You know, basically, all the messy beautiful stuff that makes us human. Every song comes from real experiences, but I always try to tell them with a wink and a sense of humor. “Cry Baby” is about how you shouldn’t be ashamed to cry and vulnerability is a strength not a weakness. “Domesticated” is a cheeky love letter to growing up and realizing that choosing love and stability doesn’t mean losing yourself. Every song I write ties back to one idea: you can be soft and strong, emotional and empowered, campy and sincere — all at once.
6. Besides music, do you have any special talents?
I am very good with animals. Even animals who hate humans usually love me. I also am very good at making people feel comfortable around me. I am also an excellent sleeper and can fall asleep almost any time any place.
7. Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!
1. I’m an independent artist, but I dream big. I write, direct, edit, style, and creative-direct everything myself — not because I have to, but because I love being hands-on with my art. Pop-star energy, DIY spirit.
2. Lily Lane is a world, not just a singer. My visuals, fashion, and music all live in the same world a little retro, a little rebellious, full of soul, sparkle, and storytelling.
3. I Write From Real Life which means I’m Messy, Honest, and Human. Every lyric comes from something I’ve lived. If I’ve cried about it, I’ve probably written a song about it I may have just disguised it as a banger.
4. I’m Not Confined By Genre. My discography moves from slow, soulful R&B ballads to fiery pop-rock anthems to dance electropop realness. I make whatever feels honest to me at that time in my life- so while you might not resonate with every song there is definitely a few in there for you!
5. I’m Six Feet Tall and a Former plus size Model – EVERY Body is Invited to This Party. Inclusivity is one of my biggest pillars. I want everyone to feel seen, sexy, and celebrated when they step into my world.
8. The road so far…. who or what was your biggest support??
My dogs, my husband, my best friends and the fans who’ve been with me since the start- since they saw me on tour with Big Time Rush over a decade ago when they were 11 and now they’re getting married and playing “I Do” at the wedding.
9. A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls
Who is your favorite dog? Chloe. Please don’t tell Benjamin. He is everyone else’s favorite because he is so sweet and small but Chloe has been in the trenches with me that is my soul dog, even though she hates all men (except my husband) and barks at any skateboards or scooters that go past and isn’t a huge fan of children to me she is perfect and I love her so much. Also, adopt don’t shop.
