1. What kind of drink would you recommend fans sip on while they listen to your new music?
Tequila baby! SALT – SHOT – LIME! Quick and classy! There’s no time to sip darling, you need your hands free to dance to “FABULOUS”!
2. Tell us more about Fabulous. What’s the main message of the song?
Being “FABULOUS” doesn’t just mean looking pretty and acting sassy, it’s a lifestyle that puts the trans and queer experience front and center. You can’t deny our existence when we’re standing right in front of you in platform patent leather heels, stuffed bra and a mini skirt, wearing a lace front 26 inch honey blonde wig, screaming “PROTECT TRANS YOUTH” into a megaphone. We’ve always been here and we always will be.
3. We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which harmless theory do you wish were true?
Maybe this is a hot take… but if Apollo 11 actually landed on the moon in 1969, then how come it’s over 50 years later and there still isn’t any decent real estate available up there? Make it make sense!
4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?
I would say the club kid to indie sleaze to brat summer pipe line. It’s sexy, it’s messy, it’s individualized – and most importantly it’s queer! Trans and queer people have always been the trend setters in fashion, and my music is sure to follow the same path.
5. Beside music, do you have any special talents?
Levitation, teleportation, shapeshifting, mind reading, time travel, etc – just the basics really!
6. Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist.
I learned to sing as a child by playing Sing Star Pop on the Play Station 2. I pick a new favorite color every year, and I sparked the trend of neon green 6 months before brat summer. I can learn a melody or harmony instantly, but I almost never know the lyrics – including the ones I’ve written. I’m quite skilled at administrative tasks, which has landed me over 10 Broadway credits as a manager and consultant. I opened for Billy Porter in 2019 to a crowd of over 3000 people while I had a broken foot – literally nothing will get in the way of me becoming a popstar!
7. The road so far…. who or what was your biggest support?
From a young age my mother always supported my dreams and empowered me to do anything I can set my mind to. When she passed last year, my community stepped up as I grieved. It reminded that I will always have a support system. Now every time I step on stage I have my chosen family in the crowd, and my mom watching from beyond the veil.
8. A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls
Q: You’re being burned at the stake for the crime of witchcraft, what are your famous last words?
A: If I had a nickel for every time I’ve been burned at the stake for the crime of witchcraft, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice.
