G-SHOCK presents new MR-G

G-SHOCK today unveils the first MR-G of the year, adding another highlight to its premium collection: The new MRG-B2100D-2ADR features a striking three-dimensional dial with a grid-like structure, inspired by the functional beauty of Kigumi1 – finished in Hanada Iro blue.

1Kigumi is a traditional Japanese construction and woodworking technique that uses no nails or metal parts.

This watch is inspired by the mystical scene of a five-story pagoda, a National Treasure, illuminated by the morning mist of Yamagata Prefecture, where MR-G watches are manufactured. The blue dial subtly shifts its appearance depending on the light and viewing angle, capturing the beautiful transition from dusk to dawn.

The dial captivates with intricate geometric patterns of undulating ridges and delicate openings, reminiscent of the fascinating world of Kigumi. Tiny gaps in the latticework allow sunlight or artificial light to pass through, generating sufficient energy to power the watch.

The case and bezel are composed of 27 individual parts, meticulously polished before precise assembly. This timepiece unites traditional Japanese craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology, embodying the pinnacle of Japanese perfection.

The MR-G’s iconic 2100-shaped case is crafted from titanium and encased in a steel alloy. Refined with titanium carbide, it guarantees exceptional toughness. The bracelet is made of DAT55G, a titanium alloy with approximately three times the hardness of pure titanium. This timepiece combines the refined beauty of the metal with the robustness of a G-SHOCK, creating a design that more than lives up to the MR-G name.

The new MR-G also impresses with its functionality: When paired with a smartphone via Bluetooth®, it can connect to online time servers and automatically update for daylight saving time and time zones. This fully automated watch displays the exact time anywhere in the world, ensuring absolute reliability.
