G-SHOCK introduces the new GMW-BZ5000 with MIP display: In the classic all-metal shape of the 5000 series, the new GMW-BZ5000 boasts a new high-resolution, high-contrast MIP (Memory-in-Pixel) display with a wide viewing angle.
The new GMW-BZ5000 is the first all-metal G-SHOCK watch with a MIP display for optimal readability, even in direct sunlight or at an angle. The high-resolution MIP display allows for flexible arrangement of numbers and symbols, offering greater design freedom. Users can choose between four different layouts, displaying the date, day of the week, and time in two different cities. When connected to a smartphone, the app offers two different fonts for the time display: STANDARD or CLASSIC with the classic 7-segment display that has been available since the first G-SHOCK.
The exterior design was developed in close collaboration between designers and AI, with the goal of achieving optimal wearing comfort. Based on design proposals, the generative AI performed repeated stress simulations – drawing on shock resistance data from over 40 years of research. Unlike the conventional bezel that completely encircles the case, the newly developed construction consists of a connected bezel and a case that is fixed at the top and bottom – for an even more comfortable feel on the wrist. The sides reveal complex, three-dimensional contours created by the lines of the components, giving this all-metal G-SHOCK a completely new, striking look.
The GMW-BZ5000 features a newly developed MIP display that is highly energy-efficient and fully solar-powered. The watch also offers time setting via radio signal and smartphone connection using Bluetooth®* for convenient and reliable operation.
