Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to zip on while they listen to your new music?
Yo readers! I’d recommend something nostalgic, warm and slightly bittersweet to accompany my new music. A Tesco clubcard red wine or whiskey on the rocks should suffice.
Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!
I’ve just released my latest single ‘girl’. It’s my most anthemic release to date. It’s a true coming-of-age singalong that promotes pop with purpose, wit with vulnerability, and one massive chorus you’ll be humming for weeks.
Next up on the agenda is my next single ‘forgive’, a track I have been teasing a lot on TikTok and on my live streams too. The fans seem to really love this one and I am buzzing to put it out on July 2nd. The song was written for myself as a mantra to help get through hard times and breakups a couple years ago, and it still feels as relevant as ever and I genuinely sing it to myself all the time for closure and motivation. I can’t wait to share it with you all so it can hopefully help you too. There will also be a super wholesome home-movie-style music video with all my friends to accompany the track too.
Although a little while off, I am super excited for my first London show in a long time for Communion at The Social on November 20th. It’s gonna be a really special night and I can’t wait to meet all the fans I’ve made online from the London area for the first time in person!
We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)
Pigeons are definitely spying on us. Just look at them. They’re evil. They’re feeding all my information and data to the overlords at Ebay for real.
What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?
Levi’s jeans. Classic. Timeless. Humble.
Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?
Lyrics are deeply important to me. Growing up on a diet of Springsteen, Dylan, Joni Mitchell and the entire great American songbook, the importance of storytelling is crucial for me. Even in a song like ‘girl’ which might seem a bit vapid, I try to weave humour and little in-jokes to keep the listener guessing.
My next release ‘forgive’ is a deeply personal track for me. As I said before, it’s basically a mantra that I sing to myself all the time to help get through the day. “A broken heart is still a beating heart”.
Beside music, do you have any special talents?
I’m incredibly handsome.
Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!
I produce all of my own music! And nearly all of it is recorded in my tiny flat in Liverpool. Shoutout to my neighbours for not complaining about the racket.
I love my fans and livestream testing out new songs and playing old faves on TikTok nearly everyday
I have a cult Discord group you should join where I leak new music, and just yap tbh
I’m first and foremost a guitar player – I grew up trying and failing to shred like Stevie Ray Vaughan and Hendrix
Most of my music is deeply personal to me. I tend to feel things quite heavily, so songwriting is my main outlet to help relieve the weight of it all.
The road so far…. who or what was your biggest support??
I’ve been fortunate to play some pretty special shows. My all time favourite was headlining the Cavern Club for BBC Introducing to a sold out crowd. Meeting the real life fans who’d discovered my music online was super surreal and emotional for me. Plus signing setlists and taking selfies with people was great for my ego. The support act that night was the incredible Mickey Callisto, who’s now a TV sensation with an unreal voice. He’s also a lovely lad.
A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls
Euan, what is your skincare routine?
If you want to look as gorgeous and tired as me, here you go:
Well I start with a cleanser, CeraVe Foaming Cleanser is my go to.
Next up, spot gel to help make me look good. Currently using this Witch Blemish Clearing Spot Gel with Salicylic Acid from Amazon. Seems to be doing the trick
Bit of eye gel courtesy of ‘Simple’, and finish with a moisturiser – Cetaphil is my fave.
My night routine is basically the same but with a Retinol too.
Rock on.
